Please clarify the following Is it tank cleaner or tank clinger?

Update:

This is one kind of fish. I see that this fish is always clinging with the walls of the tank. But some has pointed out that this fish would clean the tank by swallowing dirty things. Please clarify. Thanks in advance

    Neither really.

    It's a ****** mouth catfish.

Although it may cling to the glass, and even eat some algae and left over food, it doesn't clean the tank. Everything it eats gets converted to fish poop. LOTS of fish poop. They also grow to about a foot long.

Do some research before you buy one.

People call that kind of fish a tank cleaner. It cleans the glass by eating algae from the glass. It doesn't eat "dirty things," or make the water any cleaner, contrary to some people's misunderstandings.

But it's also a clinger, as you observed. It clings to the glass.

Adding a point aboot Tank cleaner..there's a name for that fish. If you say the name of the fish, there's a myth that the fish will die. It's not a joke. i have heard this.
