Hoarding is not possible without some politiciuans involvement.do you agree with me?

There is a complaint that traders hoard food stuff like onion and potatoes to create artificial scarcity and price rise. Hoarding can be done by only big whole sale merchants and it is not difficult to locate these men. But political support from ruling politicians keeps them hidden and a lot of babble is created to mislead the People. Media also co-operates with politicians instead of publishing the names of possible hoarder/wholesalers. I think it is not all difficult to fix hoarders if there is political will/ what do you say?

The whole point of being a merchant is to sell. And hoarding perishable goods is even sillier. When the market conditions lower the price of the goods, then yes, some merchants are tempted to "fix" the system. So are farmers, who will plow under crops if they can't get a decent return on it. But market pressures are generally enough to keep the system going. Any long term attempts to hoard are bound to fail, as there are always people who will provide the goods the hoarders are attempting to monopolize, especially when it comes to foodstuffs. Politicians are more likely to rat out hoarders to curry voter favor, than to risk their political careers protecting them, especially if it comes out they are hoarding.

The govt aids this by farm subsidies. Farmers are paid not to grow or not to sell what they grow. Is this bad or good. Well that is an interesting question. ADM controls many large factory farms, the rest are the little farmer, little by comparison. If the govt did not shore up prices, farms would go under and cease to be and there would be less food. This is where Tea Party don't get it. The world runs on MONEY! If you didn't get paid how many hundred hours would you work a week? That is the problem, everyone must be paid and it would be nice if they were paid well. If people don't get paid things collapse and the food system collapses and people die and plague sets in etc. etc. Communism, real communism always fails because people need to be paid. So shortages are planned, so farmers can make a living because they want to be paid. If there was one year of plenty and no subsidies, next year could result is failed crops and bankruptcy, many less farms to rely on. It is far from perfect but is sort of works. Many, including conservatives take advantage of farm subsidies. The alternative, you may not like the alternative. Pray that it starts raining in the west and southwest. I'm an atheist but even I hope and pray it rains.

It can be done by hedge fund managers. All you have to do is buy futures.
