Do you agree with me?
This is addressed to people of southern states, Gujarat,Kashmirand north eastern states.
The north Indians especially those from Hindi belt are trying to impose Hindi on Non Hindi speaking states. This would ultimately make them as second class citizens of this country. I feel that a federation of non Hindi speaking states is a must to fight the imposition of Hindi a poor language on the rest of India. Do you vote for the formation of this federation?
If yes please confirm.

No. But!!!
I am a non native speaker of Hindi originally from Odisha where my parents still stay and I visit them often by travelling from Mumbai. English is still an elitist language, majority of population of country can't speak or write it correctly, it's a completely foreign language.
Situation in Odisha - When we were kids we were taught Odiya/Sanskrit, Hindi (till 8th standard) & English (Compulsory) language. We like most people near by me watched and enjoyed both Odiya & Hindi movies or serials. So Hindi was never alien and was always there, most people speak Hindi when asked for, in a very accentuated manner(speaking Hindi in Odiya accent and using odiya words) though. Few words, expressions are similar owing to Sanskritic roots of both languages. So Hindi being national language wont hurt me ever. Also Marathi was easy to learn, given this background. Something happened recently in Odisha state assembly where an MLA who tried to speak Hindi was stopped, obviously official language is Odiya & English (later shd not be allowed too)
But if Hindi is made national languages following points should be implemented is what I think -
But there are many ignorant north Indians who treat people not speaking Hindi as kind of 2nd class citizen. If Hindi becomes national language, such people should be thrown out of country first or educated about importance of all regional languages. There are many many good people from North too, most of my best friends are from UP.
Plus all non Hindi speaking states (even Hindi speaking states) should be allowed to have a permit system where they control how many people from Hindi speaking states enter and leave the state.
All regional languages should be promoted culturally, technically. Also states should have laws to protect local languages and ensure that Hindi should never become lingua-franca in any part of the state. i.e. outsiders should be trained and should pass language tests.
May be Tamil (oldest language in India with great literature) should be accorded official status in central government, since South Indian languages are much different from Hindi and north/eastern/western languages. I don't have much idea about perspective in south but my friends from south could understand & speak Tamil, Telugu, Kannada equally.
English could be made un-official but should be taught at all levels.

From a national standpoint, whether Indian or American, there should be a state's language of choice. If the Americans imposed German on California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas millions of people would be unhappy.
I don't see why there shouldn't be a defense of the language you speak. Forced acquisition never does any good.
Hope this helps.

No I can not agree with you as you belong to Hindi Belt of Northern India while I belong to Southern India.

You lost me after the names I couldn't pronounce, but if you are making a point regarding the southern states wanting illegal Mexicans to learn English, I think that they are absolutely right. "When in Rome, do as they do." They are coming into my country, and expecting to stay without speaking my language. I get pissed every time I see a billboard in Spanish.

The language conflict has been going on since Nehru's days in office.
I think English is best, since it is equally "foreign" to all ares of India, but it is so common among the educated classes now, and when Indians learn English, it opens doors to the rest of the world, since English is a true international language today, in aviation, business, and diplomacy.
I am not sure of what you mean by "federation." You mean a separate State of non-Hindi-speaking states, separated from India? I don't think that would be good at all.
If you mean within India, like a voluntary association, it depends on what methods it uses. India doesn't need more divisions. There are so many forces always pulling the regions of India apart. Learning Hindi is not the end of the world. Even if state governments must use Hindi in official communications or whatever the case may be, that may be changed in the future. Non-Hindi-speaking politicians and intellectuals are free to organize institutions for the greater exposure and cultivation of other Indian languages. I think that would do more good than more protesting.
But I do disagree with the attitude of many people in northern India that Hindi is a national language, because it truly isn't, when one considers the literatures and long tradition of Bengali, for example, and other languages of other regions of the country.
