What is done on a sixth form induction day?

I have got my sixth form induction in the next few days. I am a new student to this school and am very nervous. Can you tell me what exactly happens on this day.. Do I have to wear the school uniform?.. And I read about some taster lessons on the net, regarding your particular subject. What are these taster lessons?

All the help in appreciated. Thank you.

On my sixth form induction we had a short assembly welcoming us to the school and we were then given a timetable of events and taster lessons. We could choose a maximum of six taster lessons to attend. Basically you go to the subject taster sessions that you're likely to want to begin studying during the following year. You can then speak to the teachers and get an idea about what you'll be learning which will help you decide exactly what you want to study. Whether you have to wear uniform or not depends on the school, it may be worth sending them an e-mail just to find out?
