Would Rahul take over from Dr Singh at least in the next term, if the party manages to form Govt again 2014?

Question

Dr Singh's days of fame seems to have faded and rising inflation, unemployment, acute all round price rise of essentials etc have disillusioned people about the capacity of Dr Singh to manage the economy. The propaganda about the blatant pro corporate policies of the UPA under Dr Singh had further cast suspicions about his party's Aam Aadmi interests. Recurrent terrorism, scams and weak foreign policies etc had eroded the trust of critics in the govt under his leadership. Dual leadership is also being openly discussed as the reason for his inability to achieve any tangible good. His party men including the spokespersons close to party leadership, harp on Rahul as the perfect alternative to induct energy and dynamism in the team.

Would Sri Rahul take over well in time to redeem the party from the chaos? Would there be any advance indication before general elections, to lend hope of better leadership in the UPA? What is your surmise about the prospects of Rahul taking over and proving a better leader at the top? Do share your considered opinions.

Rahul will step into the shoes of Dr.Singh only if the Congress gets thumping majority in the LS on its own and the Govt survival's should not be at the mercy of alliance partners. If the UPA-II or UPA-III did not get majority on its own, then the Congress will make some senior leaders like A.K.Antony, etc., as PM.

Here is my prediction,,prognosis and therapy . In the next elections, the so called "third front" and (why not a "fourth front") will take over. That front has a dozen potential prime ministers each blocking and opposing the other`s way . "Important ministries(whatever it means) are fought for , sold , auctioned or bargained giving juicy materials to armchair journalists. .That government will last for a lengthy six months.(I am an incurable optimist) .Interim elections will be necessitated. The interim election issue is "stability versus chaos".
Aam admi whose ultimate desire is free food , clothing and shelter with  a  secure government job (with no work) will opt for stability of the version given by a single secular family .
And then Rahul will be the PM .

He, himself Rahul is not keen enough to become Prime Minister, if ever Congress wins. He could be a damn good leader. In future, he will play a part as like Sonia now. Only a source of guidance. It will take years for him to become Prime Minister.
Gandhi family consider Prime Ministership as a Curse after the assasins of Rajiv Gandhi & Indira Gandhi.
