What is the reason for the increasing conflicts and intolerance among people and groups?

Money replaced God . That is the cause of conflicts and intolerance

Intolerance is not new, even in education. People were once "educated" to think of Africans as sub-human. But as to why we see increasing political conflict, Wallerstein has a theory, World Systems Theory, that nations of the world go through political and economic cycles as rich countries exploit poorer, less powerful countries. Because we are currently at the point at which the reigning superpower is falling from its dominant position, the other nations are jockeying for position in an international power grab. For this reason we see more wars and ideological conflicts, and we may eventually see another World War.

In a society bereft with heirachy in which the common man is forced to fight for his own place in the world conflict would always be a factor_ todays society forces us to adapt in ways that are barbaric at their core but necessary to survive in this Dog eat Dog world_ our own tolerance of one another is shortened because we have come to understand that compassion for the next person is unimportant and therefore a waste of your own time_ this may not be a whimsical view of the world but it is the world we live in_ at the very least through my own 17 year old eyes

I wonder that myself. Negativity is just plain contagious and others don't know how to handle it. It doesn't help that parents that can't handle themselves end up having children and then wear it off to them and then it continues to spread.

I'm just choosing for my own self to go the other route at best so then I can help turn these people around if possible. I see it as best to become tolerant of others and live in your own world of true inner peace and happiness.

I actually read in a wisdom book where if you put these 4 steps in your life you won't view so much the negative things around you; instead you are better at handling yourself and so the negatives turn into lessons and positives. You are pretty much in Heaven when others are in Hell. You don't view the world as Hell with the constant negativity. And these 4 steps of course take practice and patience.
