Does NOT applying any makeup help to retain healthy and radiant skin?

I want to know if makeup application has any positive and permanent effects on skin. Recently, i applied foundation and lipstick; this ruined my face and now it has become quite oily. There are whitehead and dark scars that look pretty ugly. Please help & suggest some natural ways to get rid of it.

Thanks!!!

Generally makeup is not good for the skin. HOWEVER making sure that your makeup is suited to your skin type is essential in combination with properly taking makeup off and cleansing, toning and moisturising as this will mean makeup does not affect skin. Using a primer underneath foundation can also help skin because it stops it sinking into pores which can be a cause of oilyness and spots. The dark scars may be caused by you picking spots and being out in the sun (especially with spots) so make sure you use an OIL FREE spf moisturiser. Use a cleanser, toner and moisturiser for oily skin with blemishes - I like the Clinique anti-blemish 3 step system which although is expensive is definitely worth the money. If you have a spot then apply a spot cream. Use the skincare routine in the morning before work or school, when you get up, follow with a primer if your going to wear makeup that day. Remember to take makeup off at night and follow the routine.

cheap makeup will ruin your skin, but I think if you are willing to spend a lot of money, the good stuff is better. Maybe try some natural, organic stuff. There are a lot of organic makeups out there, if you type it into your search bar, lots of options show up.

Yes! Makeup clogs the pores in your skin. That's what caused the oil. And causes acne. Use face cleaner! There are good facial soaps

Bourelly isn’t surprised. "Many of the things that my patients complain about -- dull, rough skin and uneven skin tone -- are related to chronic sun exposure," she says. "And studies have shown that smoking is associated with premature wrinkling." Her advice:

Try Freeman's peel off mask. It literally peels off your face and I can see the oil and blackheads that it pulled from my pores
