Are laminated Birth and Marriage Certificates accepted by NVC?
@ Frank
I laminated them for preservation prior to posting and also mentioned it in the list of documents. So NVC would know that they were laminated by me. Earlier I had sent to them notorized certificates which were considered unacceptable as either only original or certified by the issueing authority are allowed. As certifying was a time-consuming matter, I decided to send the original which were in thin paper and hence I laminated for preservation. I read on the net somewhere that if the laminated certificates are accompanied by notorized copies, it can be acceptable. NVC has not stated anywhere that they should not be laminated nor the issueing authorities in India had banned lamination unlike US authorities who instruct not to laminate the certificates.
