Have you ever considered a pen name?

I remember one summer when I was younger, my sister, my brother and I decided we'd come up with pen names. I don't even remember what I'd come up with now...something with Wren or Robin in it.

Now that I'm older I don't think I've thought of actually making a new one or even using one. Would you ever use one? Or made one up for fun? Did you follow a method? I'm just very curious. I've seen people rearrange the letters of their names for one, create new names using their initials, or just gone completely out there and made something new.

My initials are E.A.D.B (I have two middle names) so the initials method is hard for me. Do I do a first name, two initials, last name? Two initials, one name, last name? Like...it's hard when you have an extra letter in there lol. And the only good name that I can form out of my name is rearranging EMILY into MILEY which...is an alright name.

Just leave anything, I'm just curious.

I was very persistent on having a pen name for a while. Dr. Seuss, Mark Twain, and Lewis Carroll inspired me to come up with one. I ended up using an alternate spelling of my middle name and a last name taken from one of my favorite books.

Now, I have discarded my pen name, because it no longer seems poetic to me. I also realized that, in this day and age, it would be nearly impossible to keep my real name a secret, so it started to seem pointless to me to try to hide behind a fake name if my real name would be already known to so many people. In fact, it'd probably just be confusing. And then, of course, my real name is a perfectly good name for publication, and is actually easier to spell than my pseudonym was.

I write under my first and last name. You could always do that, instead of initials or a pen name, because, why not? It's easy and straightforward.

I have a pen name, but I won't tell it here for some reasons. But I can tell you the method I used to obtain my pen name.

Choose three to five words of your choice.

    Ex.

    Blue Apple Wings

    Ready?

Take the first two letters of each word.

    BlApWi

    Blapwi

You can play around with the words until you find something fun.

    Bl.Ap.Wi.

    BluAppWin

If I ever got published, I would use a pen name just because my real first name is hard to pronounce.

I would just use my middle name with my last name

I come up with them all the time. I've made my name backwards, like Parsons into Snosrap. I've also come up with some that represent me like Kana Dragon or Sapphire (my favorite color) just be unique think of how you want to be remembered. (Even A Deer Breaths). make it an acronym of something you like.
