Question about RTI rules on eliciting info from police dept. Do you know the answer?

I asked a lawyer friend if a RTI petition can be filed with COP to elicit info about the number of accidents from LPG cylinder bursts during the past calendar year / financial year in his official territory. He said court verdict would be required to ask such details. I doubt if such provision exists or made thereafter as an amendment or as executive orders (under probable powers given to Govt under the Act).

Can someone conversant with the rules in Tamilnadu share the correct position?

Thanks for your time.

RTI 2005 provides for right to information from any office .Every public office have an information officer and an appellate officer . Court verdict is not at all needed. No executive order is made . If at all such an order exists the information officer must write to you officially giving a reference to it .

I am an RTI activist from AP .

Very traumatic!!!!!!!!!! sure, it occurred to me a 365 days in the past with a former Yahoo identity. question: "Which comes first: fowl or egg?" My answer: "fowl (alphabetical order!)" yet another answerer used my comparable answer once I submitted it. His replace into chosen appropriate answer. became out to be a collection of two persons who had somewhat activity going the place she could pose a question; he could answer; and no count how inane (or insane) the respond, his could be chosen for the ten factors. An occasion -- she asked the question: "Who invented the 24 hour day?" He replied "Rolex proprietor", and she or he chosen that as appropriate answer.
