i phone 3gs or used 4?

Question

i am a student .. i am about to buy my first i phone. i have limited funds that is 20,000 rupees. i have an option between a 3gs or a used 4.. that would cost me around d same budget. the only reason i want to buy used 4 is that it would get further updates as it has a better processor. i have to use my iphone for atleast 2 years...... please help and give pros and cons...

I must admit I do not understand questions like this, it seems almost to be a "compulsion" rite of passage to own an iPhone

I am all for recycling (used iPhone4)   but here is where  we part company
The iPhone 3GS was released in June 2009 and does NOT have a camera flash, the iPhone 4 a year later June  2010.

You're on a budget and apparently there are not any other phones being made by anybody.
Six months is a lifetime in the mobile phone industry and what a premium device on release is all but superannuated within a year and already on a competitor model ( if competitors existed )

The only problem with other mid range makes and models eg  Android phones with better specs except they are missing that one word "IPHONE" (if competitors existed).

The iPhone 3GS will be discontinued shortly after release of the IPhone 5 in 2012 
The iPhone 4 will be discontinued 2013/14  but both phones  NOW only come in 8Gb version

All you are doing is paying an extremely high "rent" that in 2014 will be for a  5 or 4 year old phone which is ungiveawayable, let alone sell-able.
Quad core phones are being made HTC One X
