Terminal Programs -- recommendations?

I am using Ubuntu with Gnome and Xubuntu with Xfce I use the gnome-terminal program -- for the most part I am happy with everything. I can't help noticing that there are a lot of terminal programs and some of them are better than others -- can someone help me decide what the "best" terminal programs are and why.

I am a fan of the Bash shell ... and I do a little programming (Pascal).

Thanks in advance to all who answer!

You are aware that all buntu's are the same right? Ubuntu is Ubuntu...with GNOME, Xubuntu is Ubunutu with XFCE, there not separate distros's. You can install XFCE on Ubuntu and choose it at login. It's just wordplay. To answer your question, BASH.

I think the "best" is whatever happens to work well for you. I haven't tried the latest release of Gnome, but out of the few I've tried, the standard Gnome terminal is what I like best. Your mileage may vary.
