What do you think about CWG scam in India now?

Not only CVG, but also 2G, or Adarsh and many more such scams are the matter of grave concern. The amount of money lost in these scams does not belong to Dr. Manmohan Singh, or Smt Sonia Gandhi but that belongs to taxpayers like you and me. Dr. Manmohan Singh as head of cabinet as duty towards tax payers to protect every penny of our money and he failed to keep up to his duty.

Of course, this failure is a matter of grave concern, but how did these scams surfaced and brought to the public notice? These are brought to the public notice due to awareness. And the awareness has come due to government policies such as Right to Information.

While this government is a big failure on two fronts corruption and inflation it has done few jobs that should be appreciated as well, such as Right to information and education, Education reforms in higher education, Initiatives in Legal system (results are yet to be seen but yourself being lawyer know better than me), Employment guarantee scheme are few of them.

Of course as you said, the Congress led UPA government is fully drowned with all the corruption cases. And I would add inflation to it. These issues have overshadowed the achievements of the government few of them I mentioned above.

No one remembers that during global recession, it was this government was sustained Indian government from collapsing with some inflation but no major job losses. No work plants were closed, Indian economy remained intact.

Government of India is bringing in a new bill to curb corruption in government and government officials. I don't know the details of that bill, but may be that would help to fight corruption that is injected in our blood. Just today, I was reading a news where Delhi Lokayukta has recommended President to get rid of a Delhi minister and prosecute him in court of law because he interfered in the work of a tax commissioner to get work done in his favor. And the inquiry was completed in less than an year. I wish this kind of examples are repeated again and again, but time taken is lesser than that.

We have signed tax information exchange treaty with 14 nations so far, that would help us to eliminate black money abroad. With some countries it is on going forward basis and with some countries it even for historical information exchange.

Last but not the least, Dr. Manmohan Singh needs to clean up his house and is answerable to the public as the money does belong to you and me, that he lost because of corruption in his government.

Edit: Dear Mr. Vijay, I surely echo with your voice over the money that is lost in the spam of scams in last few decades and huge scams exposed in past few years. Of course, it requires two step process, one is to stop any further loss and second is to recover the money is dumped in the corrupt politician and government official's accounts. Unfortunately we don't see anything substantial happening on either of the front. When you say, steps from common men, if you are suggesting something like Egypt and Libya, I denounce that. We don't want that in India, rather than that we want Indians to become more aware and vote intelligently, we want Indians to act promptly. Like for example, we have several not for profit legal organizations that are open to help for against corrupt politicians and government officials, we the citizens need to dare and file cases against corrupt officials and politicians. We are seeing that at least our judiciary is acting little responsibly. We have to come out of "Chalata hai" attitude. And the money dumped in corruption can only be recovered when we have clean administration.

I was avoiding to comment on Ramkrshna Yadav alias Baba Ramdev, I like him as a Yaga teacher, but as he is entering the politics, I find all his acts nothing more than political stunt. He will stop after 2014 election after seeing the ground reality.

Edit: Dear Mr. Vijay, Unfortunately I don't agree with your observation. Just in 2009 elections, I watched in television telecast, that people in remote villages wanted to vote for Indira Gandhi, they had no clue that Indira Gandhi is no more. As far as election frauds are concerned, that is like pinch of salt, not the cause of election results. We every time read and watch elections results based on emotions, by emotions I mean based on caste, religion, and community, is it not foolishness to vote for the representative who is incompetent but belong to one's community or religion? Does money not buy votes even today? Is M Karunanity not bribing voters by providing them free TV today? Is the account of election expense really true? Are electorates smart enough to not go behind these rich candidates and vote for competent candidate? Are electorate smart enough not to vote for the big gangsters? The answer in my view is not fully. The awareness has come to some extend but its long way to go. Why does Jagdish Titler win election after being accused of 84 massacre?

The world SCAM has a different meaning to CWD scam. In fact, scam is a act which is done by hidden from the other whereas CWD Scam is nothing but is absolutely a part and parcel act of the present government.

As such, we may say that it is a political part of the present government like 2G scam etc. etc. Even act of the CBI is also not reliable b`cos it is acting under the pressure/deed of the present government.

And as such your`s question 1 & 2 is not to be solved right now.

As regard the new set of honest people to take over the governance of the country, is it so simple while the votes are purchase or forged, no it is not so simple to think about it at the present situation, however, it may planned for 2014. So just think about it and do the need full accordingly. Only a one person right now may help in this regard and that is BABA RAM DEV.

Where you are Mr. Rajput. India is now the 3rd Most Powerful Nations in the World. CWG is our Pride. It was started with a very wide view. This is another matter, some unscrupulous Politicians, Opposition parties, and some biased media has turned it into a negative show. They have forgotten the Indian virtues. But NOT every Indian is like them. Indians in general want to see the CWG a success. As regards the corruption Charges, no body will be spared. Agencies are on the job. Let the games finish.

It is true that more Indians are now educated. But that does not mean that awareness has been improved. Many of us know that we are given (forced/cornered to choose) choices of choosing any thief who are contesting in Election. If we have chosen a thief then we should not be blaming that they have looted us. Because they are doing their job for which they have been intending.

While they are not even ready to accept their involvement in corruption then there is no point that we may get back the looted money pocketed by them. Forget it.

We can only hope that our young generations can do something with the real guidance of positive thinking elders. We are in leadership crises that is more dangerous than theses corruptions. For me a leader is the one who makes the public to think. Now our so called politicians are trying hard to arrest the thinking process of common public. This is really dangerous.

I believe in Mr.Abdul Kalam's words that discipline should start from home. Self discipline of individual will decide the future of India or any nation. Nowadays Education Institutions never bother about developing this Self Discipline. This should be a very important subject than Maths & Science etc.

Well I am sorry to say that my thinking is that for present generation indian politicians and ministers, corruption is just a way of life : they just simply cannot live without it. curroption is the their daily meal. Need I say more? so, its not that a few handful of them are involved in such scams it the entire system from top to bottom that has become solidly corrupt and more so that they consider it to be matter of pride and prestige of getting involved and being named. Instead of being shameful, they just laugh away making a mockery of the Indian judicial system. So, it requires a revolution sort of thing to wipe off this dirt of corruption which has penetrated deep into the indian political system all over. Its immaterial who is handling the reins of the government because right from the top executives to the lowest levels wether its cong or bjp or no matter what party who name, they are all sailing in the same boat of corruption. Politics is a money minting business and corruption is the key in the minting process.

I hope that things will change for better but it will take a lot of time in decades to come.

What India needs is to make a big sweeping gesture of all organization that can only happen with people power, people demanding some activity and decent government. If other nations can do this why not us? there is a serious lack of morality in the world.

It shows the beggar mentality of the Indians. The standards followed by the world and India are different. You need to adhear to the International standards to host a global events. You can criticise every expenditure in such an event.

We do not consider this as national investments, done first time ever after the Mogals and the British created landmarks. You can also question Taj Mahal. Why Shajahan built Taj with marbles? He could have used Indian made bricks. He can be arrested for a scam. He will not have any convincing answers. Hang him until death and demolish Taj Mahal.

Such stupid logic followed in every scam alarm of recent times. People want to create sensational news that can disturb every nation building process. The idiotic masses, leaving all their work aside and writing bulls**t all over internet. Are you going to get anything out of it ? Are you expecting the government, all ministers sleep and spend their terms without involving in any new ventures just because some one will shout as scam ?

There are millions of nonperforming administrators and politicians safe in their positions. Only those perform will be under attack. Throw such sleeping liabilities of the nation into the Indian Ocean. Support the people who want to perform.

What answer do you expect ? This will also go in the dust bin or like so many enquiries held and did not see the light of the day .This can be done only if there is no interference of anybody and every action is transparent and responsibility is pinpointed.there should be no interference of any politician/bureocrat in any other area.Every officer should be held accountable for the lapses and should not be pardoned. on the plea that I was under pressure.The officer showing authority in other's areas should be punished.

We need to do massive protest in all schools and colleges of India against corruption and another important thing is narendra modi should be the next PM of India.

cwg scam is very saddening -------someone from above ----is protecting kalmadi from a long time-----my suspicions are towards 10 janpath [ may be ]
