Is it possible for a person from Kerala to renew US visitor visa issued by consulate at Chennai, at Bombay?

10 years multiple entry US visa expires next month. Can I submit application online from Trivandrum and ask for interview at Bombay? Originally the visa was issued by US consulate in Chennai. I am asking this in view of a notification in Hindustan Times dated Nov 20, 2010 (http://www.hindustantimes.com/US-visa-Apply-at-any... )that one can apply for US visa in any center irrespective of place of permanent residence.

    You can submit the online application from anywhere for any Consulate in India, but it is always preferred to attend interview in the Passport issued Zone.
