Journey of Vaishno Devi?

I want to travel Vaishno Devi in the month of January/ February next year with my family. Will it be comfortable or not ? I heard that there will be severe cold in that period. Please suggest.

I have visited at Mata Vaishno Devi temple at least hundred times in every weather. The month of January and February is very good .It would be better that book one room at location Aredh Kumari on the way ,.For room booking you may contract at Vaisano devi Board at Katra,(Jam mu). This is good when you are suffering on foot. Their you can get air service as well as pony and pittu also. Here you do not worried about weather ,covered with your self with warn cloths. All type of facilities like eating, drinking, medical and toilets are every where.

Traveling Vaishno Devi at this time is quite difficult but if one carries the warm clothes and then one can easily travel to Vaishno Devi.......

I would say it is better to travel in the summer. In the winter, it is extremely cold and there are environmental problems such as landslides, which block off the smaller routes. This means a longer walk as well.

I went in the summer and I would recommend hiring horses for the climb up, but walking down.

    Cheers

My suggestion is if you have kids think about climate otherwise it is nice adventure experience and spiritual too. Even that time is not a season so you will get pleasant experience.
