Different situation regarding the Glazer ownership and the Liverpool situation.

Glazer owns the club 100% and has his OWN board members who back him in place.

Only Glazer can authorise a takeover. The Liverpool one was done by members of the board.

Unless an investor can pay £3.5 BILLION for United, whilst waiting 12 years before getting a return on their investment (which in the words of Duncan Bannatyne would mean "I'm Out"!) means i can't see a takeover happening anytime soon.

Basically Glazer won;t leave because he has 100% control over United's finances. Under the terms of the Bond Issue he took out last year to reorganise the debts and raise revenue, he can take out up to £167m a year, but as it's been well documented, he's taking the money out and keeping it.

Nothing has been paid towards the debt. But he owns United, so it's perfectly legal. In business terms it's reckless ownership and suicidal, but a guarenteed way to make a quick fortune.

He's not going to leave a cash cow like that.

@MUFFE: Sorry hun, but i deal in realities and it's what i've been trying to prepare United fans for, and ended up being lambasted and verbally attacked for doing so.

Only the Red Knights have actually come in with an offer of £800m and Glazer will want closer to £3.5 Billion.

It must also be a wake up call to all those Utd fans who think that everyone wants to buy United......well where are the offers?

@Bro. It was a TABLED bid of £800m and a rumoured bid of £1.2bn. Not the other way around.

As for United an investor would need to pay:

    - £1.1bn to wipe out the debt (Debt currently stands at £750m but when it matures, due to interest and PIK notes it will be around £1.1bn. These figures can easily be found on the interweb)

    - £1.5bn that Man Utd are worth according to Forbes.

    - An large amount big enough to tempt Glazer to sell up in the first place. Why would he just sell the club for what it's worth when he can continue to take out hundreds of millions? £1bn should tempt him to sell.

Total that all up and it's £3.6bn. And what investor is stupid enough to pay that much for a club that earns £286m a year? Pus money needed to be invested in the squad with aging players and a new manager needing to be found once Fergie retires? As you stated investors aren't idiots, and no-one in their right mind will wait 12 years before they get a return.

Glazer isn't a bad businessman, he's a GOOD businessman as he knows how to make money.....for himself.

@Headless horseman: I agree with a lot u say. Though the Red Knights actually tabled £1.25 billion not £800 million. Also another investor reported to be interested in some chinese consortium worth billions in their own right and u never know what other investors are waiting around the corner. One thing I'm not sure about is when u say the investors will need to pay £3.5 billion, how do u know about that amount? The Glazer's could easily give in for around £1.5 billion if things were to get real bad. They arn't complete idiots, they know how business works so I hope they know when it's time to sell for the sake of the club's future.

EDIT: I see where ur coming from mate.

There are no way ninety six% of guy United followers come Asia extra like 70% maybe a decrease or bigger yet defo no longer ninety six% just to characteristic soccer initially got here from England it somewhat is the place English soccer is staying for now. there became a debate approximately this somewhat a bypass there have been going to characteristic a extra physically powerful interest to the main advantageous league and play them especially in Asia yet different cities as properly. There are especially guy city followers in Manchester centre yet in extra desirable Manchester there are especially guy United followers which i think of the main common element of the attendance comes from. Am from Oldham so be attentive to what its like for guy United followers. From a Oldham fan
