Whatever happened to Man City's star studded squad ?

I thought they were one of the clubs competing for the Prem title this season ... So , whatever happened to them ? Apart from a win against Liverpool , they have drawn most of their games , what's going wrong ? Not like they are getting the toughest of teams to face . Can we say that another millions of pounds gone to the drains ? As City (just like last year's spending) will not win anything this season too ?

OQ : Will Torres be playing today ??

OQ1 : Is it just me or Sept 19th seems like a day which will never come ? Pool fans , you ready ?? ;-)

Update:

Wolf : Exactly my thoughts .. Just like last year , City have spent for nothing . They just have stars , not a team . Sad thing .. Yeah , I too can't wait .. Nah , I ain't jinxing anyone , I just want all ours and Pool players to be fine for a cracker of a game . ;-)

Update 2:

Brain : Your defense ? Y get United into this ? This is pertaining to City .. Yes , we sucked yesterday , but we don't have a great record of scoring in Goodison .. Whatever .. Good game , we blew it , what has this got to do with Man City ??

Update 3:

Bizzare : Just to refresh your memory :

GW 1:

Utd 3-0 NUFC

City 0-0 Spurs

GW2:

Utd 2-2 Fulham

City 3-0 Pool

GW3:

Utd 3-0 WHU

City 0-1 Sunderland

GW4:

Utd 3-3 Everton

City 1-1 BB

So , Utd have 2 wins from 4 games , City have 1 win from 4 games . Now , do the math or have I done it already ??

Update 4:

LtG : Fed lost ??? WTH !!! Ok , dint see the match , unfavorable timings , this is impossible !!! grrrrrrrrrrrr I hate Djok !!! guess I'll have to live with the fact that Fed is losing his game .. But I ain't giving up on him !! He came upto this stage , I am happy .. ;-) Good luck to Rafa and *grrrrr* Djok ..

Update 5:

Foxy : Don't get the frendlies where I live .. ;-( But what happened to Silva ?? Why was he not played ? He was one of their first players to be bought .. Have they forgotten about him ??

Update 6:

Bizzare : I am only talking about City and Utd as they have played good teams , Chelsea had to win against the teams they played ..

And oh yeah , Utd were actually predicted to end 2nd I thought ... But bookies were sure that City could come first after spending a whooping amount on transfers ..

Foxy : Roon dint play , God knows some lame reason (which I still don't get) , it was better if he dint come to Goodison , else we would have won ..

Update 7:

LtG : Guess he's losing his game .. sad though .. But I will go down with him !!! ;-(

Bam : A rational answer , thank you .. ;-)

Hang on...haven't United just drawn with Fulham and Everton and conceded five goals in the process? So are you counting United out of the title race at this point as well?

    Edit:

I'm sorry, but this question is just ridiculous. We're four matches into the season. Chelsea have four wins compared to Man United's two. Have I done THAT maths well enough? On the basis of your logic, United aren't title contenders.

They have plenty of stars, just not a gelled team.

OQ: Not a clue. I hope so, I like watching him play. And he might get injured before next week. Not that I'm trying to jinx him or anything :P

OQ1: My days are going so slowly because I have absolutely *nothing* to do. I'm in Manchester until Wednesday night, so these few will go pretty well. As a Utd fan, I can't wait for the game =]

They had 8 players on international duty.

Or didn't you watch the England matches

How did Rooney play? Did he score a hat-trick? Did United thrash Everton 3-0?

edit: Silva didn't play because he played in an international against Argentina mid week and you don't play tired players against clubs like Blackburn who spend most of their time clogging players.

Man, you're a ******* knob. I'm a born and bred manc, life long red and you're just some foreign parasite, walking around in your fake United shirt, giving United fans a bad name for **** like this, nothing better to do than have a go at City. Would you class Fulham or Everton as big teams? There's 4 games gone! How do you know City wont win their next 10 games?

i still cant understand they shell out a lot of money on silva only for him to bench warmer...i mean why is he not playing is he injured? maybe foxy will answer this but i have got a question for you muffe.....what happen to the arrogant jerk federer yesterday? he had the chance to win the match wen he was 15-40 in the fifth set with two match points but he threw them away....is he THAT afraid of rafa that he avoided him so that he doesnt get owned once again? lol

Source(s): edit: yeah muffe he lost in a very entertaining match 5-7,6-1,5-7,6-2,7-5 .....in the fifth set he had TWO match points but completely threw them away.. credit to nole he played really well it takes a lot of guts to save two match points against federer in the GS SF..im afraid federer is getting finished lol

Man City were never contenders to be honest. not with Mancini at least. Mancini doesn't have the capability to deal with the egos and premier league environment. Whilst he was at inter he did alright but he didn't have the egos he has now, nor were they enhanced by being in the best league on earth. i mean adebayor, tevez, balotelli? sorry mancini is no jose mourinho. and the guy's an idiot. who buys yaya toure for 35million? I'm sure for 35milion ancelotti would of given up Essien. so just to clear up, no Man city won't contend for premier league title. nor will they qualify for CPLG next year. all they are successful at doing is inflating prices of players.

I despise united but if anyone is considering writting united out of the title race because they've tied 2/4 matches, you are in fact an idiot. it's 4 games into the season, you can't write them off so fast. City on the other hand is just rubbish. they'd be doing a lot worse had it not of been for joe hart.

I think it will take them some time to get used to each other. There are a lot f individuals in the team. They need to work as a team rather then individuals.

Still early days and United should have won yesterday too.

Sept.19th. always comes after Sept.18th and before Sept. 20th so just wait a week.

this is unquestionably prevalent that unknown gamers are greater probably to combination as a team than overinflated egomaniacs for stars as you call them have mirror imaginative and prescient and basically seem at themselves

It proves that you can buy 'big' names, but that don't mean you buy succes. That Touré for instance, they pay him 225.000 euro's per week! Haven't they seen him play last year with barca? Stupid, stupid, stupid. Or milner, they bought him for a **** load of money but only because he is british.

It's just one big show, and no football.
