www.librarything.com is useful when looking for a book to read.. you put in some books you have enjoyed in the past and it suggests books you may like to read in the future :)
Also www.whatshouldireadnext.com works in a s similar way but is not so thorough.
A personal suggestion from me.. have you read "The Tomorrow" series? It's a movie now but the books are really good!

I love the Amy Tan books and Pearl Buck however an historical Chinese Classic might be the Tale of Ginji. Your scholars might regularly be accustomed to it within the equal system as scholars listed below are accustomed to Cinderella and so on. I might suggest studying the whole lot your Chinese peers suggest even though on the grounds that they probably extra accustomed to the present tradition.
