Unless you have some local ordinance for them, then no. You need a permit for handguns, but for others such as shotguns and rifles for hunting you generally just have a background check and no permit required otherwise. In my experience there aren't any background checks for a BB gun, but that is at least for my experience in Minnesota. Those rules can sometimes vary by state and other localities, but in general at least you shouldn't need anything at all.

Simply put, no. You may not be able to shoot it, but you can own it. Here in NY they say anything with a caliber of .17 or greater and has a muzzle velocity over 600 fps is legally a firearm. They passed this law in May 2010. The good thing is you can now hunt with airguns. The bad thing is you can not fire them within 500' of a road. You need the owner's permission to fire them within 500' of another dwelling, place of worship, occupied factory, warehouse, etc. You can't fire them within 1000' of a school. This is a bit extreme.

It somewhat relies upon on the place you're. In Alberta, you want a firearms acquisition license for any situation over 500 fps. i'd verify with the Walmart carrying products branch to verify what rules and rules are in place, they'd understand.

Do you mean Airsoft gun or a metal pellet bb gun? With airsoft guns ( they fire plastic white bbs) no. but you must be over 18 to purchase.

No. You don't even need a permit for a real gun let alone a toy. Where they hell do you live, new jersey?
