Zippo Lighter Fluid question?

Any brand of lighter fluid will do that. It is the nature of it. The liquid lighter fluid evaporates (turns to gas). It is the gas that burns. But that gas can also leak out. You can use any brand of lighter fluid in your Zippo as long as that fluid is designed for use in a cigarette lighter. I have used Zippo lighters for over 40 years. I seldom buy Zippo brand fluid. I go with whatever is cheapest. Never had a problem with that.

I've been using ronson fluid in my zippo and it seems to last longer than any other fluid. Been using ronson for years and years with the same lighter and soot is not a problem. The only reason zippo says to use their fluid is so they can make more money.

Yes, all lighter fluids will evaporate. It is actually the vapors that are burning, not the fluid in a liquid state.

That is the nature of fluids, they evaporate...water, lighter fluid, gas, coffee...etc.

But, you do want to use zippo fluid as other fluids will cause excessive soot which will damage your lighter.
