Why do i get disconnected from a DoTA play in Garena?

I use unlimited broadband connection from bsnl with speed of 256kbps and when i enter a room and start the game and start the play i get the message 'you were disconnected' right after the game starts.

One of my friend uses the same broadband connection and he plays the game fine.

What could be my problem?

Please help I really want to play.

Just so u know my download speed is 80kbps while downloading a file.

Not everyone knows that Acronym. You need to reword your question with appropriate symbols, and try not to use abbreviations that are not standardized such as DoTA.

First, if your connection is really k_b_ps, then it is a maximum of 256 kilo*bits* per second. This equates to about 32 kilo *bytes* per second. This speed is extremely slow, and very well could be the reason in and of itself, that you can not connect to a game online. I am also assuming that this is your download speed and not your upload speed (which is almost always 10% of your download speed). With a 3kBps (notice the uppercase B: this stands for bytes), you're not going to be able to play very many games online at all, especially nothing like an online shooter or MMORPG.

To give you a basis for comparison, my current connection ranges from 17-25 Mbps (bits). I average 2MBps (bytes) when downloading files from good servers. My upload speed is usually capped at around 400 kbps, but has gone up to speeds of 800kbps. With this speed, I have still been lagged out of a game that I should be able to more than handle.

Your problem could also be your provider. Just because they allow one person to run something like this, doesn't mean they let everyone do it. If your average Download speed is usually around 80k*b*ps, then you are going way to slow. You'd be lucky to run runescape at that speed.

Also, if you are going through ANY kind of firewall or router, your connection will be slowed substantially even if you computer or game console is the only thing connected to the router/firewall.

On a similar note, your router/firewall could be the problem itself.

Finally, telling people your friend can do something and you can't means nothing, even if they have the exact same computer/console, with all the same specs. No two machines are identical PERIOD.
