The answer largely depends on your personal political views. If you are liberal then probably the answer is yes. If you are conservative the answer is most likely no. If you are moderate then it is probably a toss up with liking some actions, disliking others.

Today most people seem to be more towards the extremes, offering slogans and chants but few real solutions. As long as politicians first priority is being re-elected, then most just try and stay ahead of what they believe to be the most advantageous crowd for them, leaving public good a distant second.

We have already passed the Prevention stages in most critical issues. Even the treatment is being delayed making issues to get more complicated. Politics with ethics was lost with Gandhi. His followers of ethical governance are no more. He rightly suggested the liquidation of Congress after getting Independence for fear of highly probable misuse of the gains of Freedom by unscrupulous ones in the party. It happened. They gave the party flag resembling the national flag and became the first biggest national party. The feeble ethics that existed for sometime under old timers like Morarji, Kamaraj, etc had totally vanished from Mrs Indira'a era, wherefore corruption started to reign from top to bottom.

The more covert ways of corruption had become more evident now and people have also realized that the trend had reached the stage of irreversibility. The media have also become more commercial than critical watch dogs. The intellectuals have become 'time servers' singing the praise of the rulers rather than educate the lay public on the pros and cons of ciritical issues facing the country.

As such it would be too much to single out politicians as the sole culprits for the wrongs of sorts, while a whole groups of other elite sections are equally in the game.

How dare you ask such a question ? Certainly our politicians are taking us in the right directions. All the right directions : like corruption , bribery , vote bank diplomacy , communalism and money-laundering etc, are embraced by our wonderful politicians . They are so generous that not only they themselves proceed fast in these directions , but also try their best to pull all of us . It is your fault if you do not follow them. Why should they try to prevent anything , thinking that prevention is better than cure ? Don't you know that the motto of our politicians is "Spread Disease , not Cure " . You are asking who should take care of resources and security of our country. You the citizens should do it yourself. Not the politicians. They are above these petty matters. They have much more important things to do . They have to give lectures , cut ribbons to inaugurate bridges and buildings , go abroad ( at our expense please ),invent and execute scams, fight in the parliament and send money to Swiss banks.Their motto is ' Always promise , never deliver'.This is the right direction really.

Never. They won't.They can't. Churchill, who used to humiliate us, Indians, made a comment that the Indians were all fools and corrupted, and they could not manage and run the government, so how can they give them freedom?

These people are proving it.Politicians know well prevention is better than cure. That is why this much of black money in Swiss. They will safe guard themselves and their family and never the nation.
