If April 1st is the Census deadline?
... and the Census asks who is living in your home on April 1st, then isn't April 1st really the first and last day that you can send it in with 100% accuracy? Is the government playing an "April Fools" joke on us?
Thanks too all who answered. I had no idea that this 2010 Census was being regarded with such humor AND contempt! Hope you all "X'd" out your blank pages prior to sending it in.
How can our government "word" an official document incorrectly?

Better yet why is Question #1 "How many people are living in your home on April 1st?" and Question #2 is "How many OTHER people are living in your home on April 1st?" or something like that? Seriously who made this thing up?!?!?

The census was not worded properly. You can send it in prior to April 1st. They are starting to count on April 1st. If it was a requirement that people send them on April 1st, the post office would not be able to handle it. Most people know when the forms come in the mail a couple weeks ago how many people were going to be in their house on April 1st.

I'm trying to understand why the Census Bureau stated that only 30% of people had already returned their forms. Maybe April 1st came earlier somewhere...

The actual census deadline will be when the Democrats have decided they now have enough democratic voters to do what they want. They need time to change answers on some of the forms in key districts throughout the US. It's like ACORN getting out the democratic vote regardless how many times people had to vote.
