IF she is sexually active, the statistically commonest cause of period delay is pregnancy.

She could be pregnant, I had a period for the first three months I was pregnant and before that I had a miscarriage and didn't know I was pregnant then. The stress of being late can delay a period as well as a low BMI (Body Mass Index), low percentage of body fat. Some women aren't regular, she may need to go on the pill to regulate her cycle.

If you're friend had unprotected sex recently, she will need to take a pregnancy test.

If not, has she done exams recently, moved house, undergone a major life change of any kind, lost weight, gained weight, been very busy, stressed, travelled, etc.?

Any of those could delay her period. Anyway, it's just a couple of days late, nothing to worry about if she hasn't had sex.
