I am thinking of buying a graphics card and my options are xfx ati hd 4770 and xfx nvidia 9800gt. Plz tell me which of them will be able to max out crysis, gta 4 and modern warfare 2. And also tell which one is better in performance, quality?

The ATi 4770 beats 9800GT anyday.

    See for yourself:

    http://www.guru3d.com/article/ati-radeon-hd-4770-r...

    Performance equal to 4850.

Its neck to neck to GTS 250, and in some games performs better.

See the Verdict page in that review.

Its written, that 4770 was originally targeted at 9800GT. But it blasts 9800GT away and targets GTS 250!

the 4770 is a very good, fast card....faster than the 9800gt.....the 4770 wont max out any of those games listed but will play them on high settings....its about equal to the radeon 4850.....

the 4770 in crossfire are extremely fast as they scale very well....i would definitely get the 4770....

the xfx version is running for 115.00 bux.....i have plenty of xfx cards that's why i recommend them....there good cards performance wise and have a double life time warranty......

    4770-----http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8...

you can see in these benchmarks how fast they are in crossfire........

Neither one can do Crysis well, you'd need 2 of them and a motherboard that takes 2 (sli type) and then a power supply massive enough to power that.

I would suggest the Nvidia gforce 260. It's the cheapest solution to coming close to full render ability and still be in a good price range for all combined components, and you only need 1, and it's the first of it's kind to offer 3d graphics which will work with the new polarized glasses that are not colored glasses for 3d viewing.

My build used this card, an asus motherboard, lexa blackline tower, 700w power supply, 500g hd. With that combo you can do Crysis for about 1k not including the o.s. from Ibuypower.com
