Need help determining which Mono block amp to get with my subwoofer.?
I have a kenwood 12" subwoofer, 4 ohms, 1000W max peak, 300W RMS. What would be the best amp (specs and all) to match up with my subwoofer where i will get the best sound and the amp won't overheat or shut off and on from protecting. What recommendations do you guys have? I'm looking to only spend a couple hundred bucks for the amp, and the box i have my sub in is ported.
The subwoofer is a single voice coil. will it matter if the sub is a single and will a mono amp still kick?

First off, if you have a single 4 ohm voice coil, most monoblock amps dont put out much power at that impedance. Majority of monoblock amps make their best power at 1 or 2 ohms mono, depending on the model.
The JL 250/1 would be good, since it puts out the same power from 1.5-4 ohms.
Other than that, I would recommend a 2 channel amp, which when bridged, makes its most power at 4 ohms mono.

Is it a dual or single voice coil woofer? That is all I need to know :)

Simple, you need a mono amp that's 300 watts RMS @ 4 ohm.
