Does your conscience decide your actions?

I've seen a video in an Indian news channel showing nobody came forward to help a poor old man who fell down in the street unconsciously.. But in the same video a young girl fells down, people rushing to help her..

What kind of mentality is this? Do people lost our humanity?

How many of you dropped your idea to help such kinda persons just because of maintaining your status in the society?

It prevails everywhere.. Im not an exception to this..

People often act like they think that it is ok for the old people to die off, but the young one should be helped. and perhaps nursed back to good health. It seems like nature intended it that way. Probably that is a result of our training in the formative years and traditions we

    have been raised in.

In USA someone would probably call an ambulance to take them

to a hospital. Old people have insurance to cover hospitalization.

Nobody, or very few, would have pangs of conscience about their

condition. Large cities are probably even more uncaring.

But after all, death is just part of the process.

No, as a Buddhist, I must believe that we decide our Karma (action) because of our motivation/intention. For example, if one man is out to go murder another man, the probably have a motivation or an intention of doing it. I don't think most people would kill someone just because something inside them told them to. Haven't you seen crimes out there today? It's been all a motive, whether it'd be money, an affair, work, etc.

Dear , An ideal person should always keep his passions under control. What generally happens is that a common man is always swayed by his passions. Secondly, an ideal person should always live a life of Non-attachment. In the actions he should always be guided by the voice of his conscience, without carry for the vulgally benifits or without carry for what the other people say or think about him.
