If Obama Is For "Change" Then Why Is He Hiding E.O's And Blocking Things For The Bush Admin?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20090218/pl_polit... is about secret executive orders.

Using Same Tactics as Bush http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/feb/17/th... To protect Bush From Legal investigations?

Update:

Come on Obama Sheeple, Let us hear from you and your master of change?

Obama Got Your Tongue?

BTW, I am not biased, i pick on all politicians becase they are all traitors of the US and the Constitution!

Update 2:

"Most of the documents were posted to the White House web site Tuesday night, after Politico inquired about their absence. “It was a simple oversight,” a spokesman, Ben LaBolt, said."

There is your validation. Now, anything else? You might want to read the whole thing before making a fool of yourself.

Update 3:

If his legal team is not settled, then he has no right to write executive orders, he had over 60 days to get them "settled" that is called transition. Stop the stupid excueses.

Update 4:

So, "G", we are supposed to have "secret" laws and orders? LM*O.

How foolish!

Update 5:

G, he is required by law to release them where he did, and that is how it was caught, but it was obvious that they did not want them public!

Update 6:

And you still have not addressed the "other" issue.

Well, I have to say that I really don't understand whatever point they are trying to make in the first article. So papers/memos didn't get posted to some site right away. How much crap did Bush/Cheney never make public? At least some to most of what Obama's doing is moving in a positive direction that will help the American people.

As for the second article... wow. I'm not sure how to take that. I'd like to do a little more fact checking but I really have to be getting to sleep now. As the article states, his inaction is unforgivable. Either have the courage of your convictions to issue a pardon, or do what you said you would and hold that idiot accountable.

Anyway, thanks for the interesting read. Now I have something to research tomorrow.

Yes, I entered a link for an old Bush EO the week Obama was nominated and was redirected to the new website:

    http://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing_room/executive_...

By Friday of that same week, they had added the link to access the old EOs. I think that's pretty decent turn-around for the first four days of a new administration. I do however wish they would re-implement the numbering system.

Apparently they changed their mind on how to organize the website, re-grouping EOs, Memoranda and Proclamations on the same page:

    http://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing_room/Presidenti...

They're right though, some of them got dropped because I know the Jan 30 wasn't there when I was looking at the other ones about Gov. contracts. Good catch and it needs to be accurate. At this point of not quite a month in office, I'm inclined to attribute the missing items to 'working out the bugs' in a new system rather than deliberate deception.

Don't know why, I can't access the Washington Times link. I'm sure it's nothing nefarious on their part, probably one of my firewall settings.

er... he released it to the public... he just didn't announce it from the hill top?

maybe he didn't think it was a big deal, but needed to be done?

maybe he thought people wouldn't like it?

who knows... the president usually does many, many things... they can't promote them all...not enough time in the day...

and I think if you don't like any politician... that is a bias... right there... just not a normal party bias...

EDIT: is says in your story... they were released to the public... through the old normal means... they just weren't posed on his website...

    how is that "being secretive"?

he wouldn't have released them if he wanted to keep them secret... right?

    can you read?

"They came to light only because the official paperwork was transmitted to the Federal Register, a dense daily compendium of regulatory actions and other formal notices prepared by the National Archives. They were published there several days after the fact."

that's how orders that aren't big deals are always announced... from Bush on back for a while...

it's cote divory sanctions? do you see anyone talking about that nation?

EDIT2: CHENEY HAD LIKE 5 LEVELS OF "TOP SECRET"... THAT NO ONE SAW HARDLY ANYTHING... THAT'S SECRET...

releasing through gov. channels and FOLLOWING THE LAW... not so secret...

what is he trying to hide here? do you want him to stand in front of the white house and go OVER EVERY LITTLE THING HE DOES EVERY DAY... and then no one would listen... because it's a bunch of stuff like SANCTIONS AGAINST COTE DIVORY... that no one cares about...

EDIT4: I would say he's been so busy with what he wants to focus on, that he simply is keeping much of that status quo... until he can get around to it... but I don't know...

I do think he doesn't want a huge Bush trial though, because it would be messy and a huge distraction from everything else going on the world...

His entire legal team is not even settled in. Just give the guy and his office at least a month to get settled in.

Source(s): Now if he say's that they won't ever become public, then there will be an issue. Until then, I would give him maybe six months. There is a lot more going on right now... Hey... settle down, they will get Bush. Don't worry.

I tend to not believe drivel that mentions blogs as a source of info, and does not list the numbers of bills or orders. if they can't list the number of the bill, its proper name, or some other identifying remark other than sensationalist ideas about it, that are targetting emotional response, they haven't done enough research to even verify that what they are saying is fact.

The next eight years are going to be entertaining, to say the least.

    Source(s): Thanks for the 2pts.
