Why is India ‘Terrorist’s Soft Target? They just walk-in, commit massacre and devastate our property & pride?

it is mostly because we are have a dont care attitude towards things. we get upset when the security is beefed up and then complain when things go wrong, cant blame the cops for the problems if we dont let them do their jobs.

we need to be more pro-active as citizens and not just look up to the politicians to do everything.

every public place should have checking done to ensure that no explosives or guns are being taken in illegally.

also india has a huge population that makes it tough for everyone to be checked all the time.

i am hurting with the mumbaiites who suffered recently and i really want to see some change come about in the minds of our politicians, the police and the citizens of india. this careless and callous attitude has to go.

India is not the only target. The list continues ... US, UK, Spain, Pakistan, Iraq, Somalia, etc...

The common symptom is the word "Muslim" - No offence to muslims.

Root Cause:

Isalm always grown through by force and violence. Hinduism / Chirsitianity has evolved over 2000 years. but islam has not. It is the religion and has not evolved through time and space. It is not even customized to a country... In a country like India, during summer when it is 40 degree Celcius, a woman wearing Veil is ridiculous... Now a muslim woman has no choice. OK. the point is that religion should grow with time and as the civilization grows religion should also grow and not merely follow some scriptures written some 1500 years ago...

Secondly due to intolerance by other religions. No Exceptions here, Chirsitians, Jews, Hindus etc... are not tolerant toward a minority muslim. Especially a muslim born and brought up in India is an Indian and should be treated as an indian and not as a minority in his own country... Eg. the famous Babri temple destruction. It was symbolic blow to all the minority muslims... I am christian even though I don't practice christianity. I am a tamil. When some tamilian is getting hurt in Srilanka my heart goes for it. Even though my mind won't. I even wanted to join LTTE when I was in college... But I would not definitely do it now...

What can change all this?

Education, Job, family plus ofcourse a better leaders of the country who can think and act secular....

Because you have an unrealistic expectation that can not be met.

You can not secure every hotel, shop, cafe, bar and any other place you can think of that the public have daily access to in every city in every country...there are simply too many of them to start with.

And you and I would then have difficulties using such outlets...we'd have to check in and show ID just to buy a newspaper or a coffee or a beer and the fact is people would soon get fed up with having to do that.

It would be like airports are now....we accept that because we don't fly every day...but if it was something we did every day then in practice we just wouldn't bother...we'd not go for a coffee or a beer as it would be too much hassle....so the place would go out of business and the people employed there would be out of jobs....and I mean hundreds of thousands of people as thousands of places closed.

Not to mention the cost of the police required to station themselves at every hotel, shop, cafe, bar etc etc.

All paid from taxes when less people are working and paying tax because they are unemployed because the places are all closed.

You see, it isn't as simple as you at first might think..there is a ripple effect from the actions you require that you haven't considered.

The fact is that we have a social structure that has developed over time and it's based mainly on freedom of movement and access...that can't realistically be changed overnight.

These targets are by definition "soft", that's why they are chosen. We can be vigilant certainly but there is no absolute fix within the system we currently have.

How you can secure your household if your doors are open ?

we are always very proud to say we are the biggest democracy in the world but see our politicians and the leaders they are the culprits of

expoiling our great nation.

I am watching T.V. almost 15 hours these days all news chanels they are talking that our security system is inadequate but i will say that in indian security system is not exixting at all.

I have travelled around 24 countries i have seen their system but when you compare with undia you feen shame.

corruption is another big reason for terrorism in india how terrorist can enter freely with lot of explosives guns granades and RDX

despite that there are coast guards and navi servillence,I dont think this is possible to happen in any countries.the cbi should probe an enquiry of the possible involvement and check their bank accounts and properties .

I feel shame of our politicians they are the worst they are just making money and enjoying V.I.P. life style they are making fool of people

all these things started only after the demolition of Babri masjid

and gujrat riots and who did that everybody knows but who took the advantage its pakistan and ISI .

PAKISTAN is doing this from so many years but we are still sleeping not taking any action just few soft statements thats is not enough

The "soft target" part is not really accurate. The hotels at least had private security that "hardened" the threat of attack against them.

There is no shame in being preyed upon by individuals whose only objective is to spread terror and fear. I cannot fathom what motivated the attackers to spread mayhem and death, but I feel for their victims, their loved ones and your country. I fear that what the attackers wanted was to force a nuclear confrontation between neighboring countries, and pray that that will not come to pass.

My country was attacked by terrorists on September 11, 2001 and my wife and I flew to France on the 15th of that month. About a week later, we were in Lyon, and a shopkeeper showed me the goose flesh on his arm as a reaction to the attack on our country. I share that emotion because of what has happened in India.

Terrorists are cowards who attack the defenseless to engender fear. It is senseless slaughter, and has no place in a civilized world. Probably the only way to stop it is universal condemnation. When the governmental and spiritual leaders of the terrorist's place of origin begin condemning these actions, they may stop.

India is now a great nation. It must therefore protect itself like a great nation. Security must be beefed up considerably. It is necessary to develop a government agency...like the FBI...to handle investigations. People must take security seriously. The Pakistanis take it very seriously and they will hit India again. The Muslims with their Jihad are against Indian Hindus, Americans, British, the western world and not too many understand this to be absolutely true. We are at war with the Jihadists and if we are to win we must take this matter seriously and combat them at every opportunity. We should take the fight to them and kill as many as we can before they kill us. In this case turning the other cheek doesn't work.

As we are failing to understand Islam and there is no seperate moderate and extremist Islam since, Koran is clear -

But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practise regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. Because we lack political will and committment. Our politicians are most happy to engage in mud slinging to each other. If one party politician resigns accepting political responsibility, the same party politicians expect other party to do it in similar situation. Especially congress. They have some good procedures to act upon and they think BJP should also follow their procedure which is outragrageous.
