Should more people donate their organs so that needy people don't have to run to the black market for them?

the govt. should devise a method by which the people are more aware of the importance of donating their organs. They can do simple things like asking people if they want to do so in the form only in which the driving licencee is issued and then putting a mark in the driving licence of a person if he wants to donate a particular organ.

Most states have that very thing on drivers lisences already. Usually a small red heart indicates that the person is an organ donor. Yes, we do need more people willing to donate organs; many people awaiting transplants die before getting an organ. What many people do not understand is that not all donated organs are good enough to transplant. There are so many reasons why the docs won't know that until the organs are taken; a visual inspection of the whole organ is essential to ensure the quality of the organ. Whatever state you live in has an Organ Procurement Team; google Organ Procurement and your state to get a better idea of what they do and what is involved with the whole organ donation thing.

Most doctors, nurses and other medical personnel are organ donors, as well as their family members, having seen the good that donations can do.
