What a flame actually is? It appears in different colors and at different temparatures for varieties. Why??

    A flame consists of gas and soot particles. The color of the flame depends on the temperature of the gas and particles. An increase in temperature means an increase in the average energy of each photon of light that is emitted. A higher energy means a higher frequency of light which then means a different color.

    Different substances have different colors when they burn because they burn at different temperatures
