I don't know what the "greatest short story of all time" is, neither does anyone else. There are thousands that are well worth reading that I haven't named, authors such as Algernon Blackwood, Issac Beshevis Singer, Doris Lessing, Raymond Chandler, even Mickey Spillane and Louis L'Amour have written great ones. The short story is an art form all it's own.

In adark night, a train was passing through a thick jungle, one of the two passengers in the entire compartment came to the other and asked : "Do you believe in ghosts?" The other replied:"NO!"

Well that is a good one and its usually told and read often now a days,,,could be a best seller even! maybe even be a movie soon! They have it on TV already,,,Mauri Povich or whatever his name is.....
