The smallest natural number would be a series of 9's, so if you take 2006 and divide it by 9, you get:

    2006 / 9 = 222.8888... or 222 8/9.

As a result, the smallest natural number with the sum of digits equal to 2006 would be an 8 followed by 222 nines.

lobosito is right. The smallest number must have all 9's, but 2006 is not divisible by 9. If you do the math, you will get that 2006 divided by 9 is 222 with a remainder of 8. Theofore the smallest number has 222 9's and one 8. The smallest number that can be made from that is the 8 followed by 222 9's, which is

    899999.....9999 for 222 9's.

    The first digit is 8

since it is the smallest it should have 9-s as digits

    9999...9999...9999

But 2006 is not divisible by 9 so you have to make one small change
