Really should take him to the vet, even if it's far away. Birds usually hide their symptoms when they're sick, so when they do show, it's not good.

Try giving him his favorite foods or seeds. Since he's not eating, go to the pet store first thing and buy some baby bird forumula, I'll have to look up the name. Here it is, this is what i used when my baby stopped eating and reverted back to wanting to be handfed.

Mix it according to directions, and start spoon feeding him. Put it on the spoon, have to kinda tilt it, and hopefully he'll eat it. He'll kinda pop his head up and down while eating it.

Then, get to the vet asap, preferably one that specializes in birds. Good luck!

These are all signs of something wrong!!! No matter how far away your vet is you need to get there! There isn't a homemade "remedy" to make him feel better, because you don't even know whats wrong with him!! When one of my birds started going through the similar things you are descibing, it was on the weekend and I didn't have anywhere I could take him...by the next morning he was dead, poor little thing it was awful! I would recommend getting to a vet ASAP. And the other thing is you don't know how long exactly he has been sick. He has only been showing signs for 2-3 days which is way too long in my opinion. Wild birds mask their illnesses because if they show signs of distress their flock would leave them to die, and birds do the same thing even when domesticated. He could have been sick for 2 weeks, and is just now showing signs. If I were you I would run immediately to the vet! Good luck!

you need to find a vet that knows birds. as a few people have already said birds can starve and die very quickly, it only takes a day or two for them to starve. you should call the pet store or breeder that you got him from or a pet store that sells/ breeds birds and ask them to recommend a vet, there probably is one around but you may not know about it. Someone mentioned giving him a baby food formula, it might be worth a try to at least sustain him until you find a vet, but if he isn't a baby than he might not accept it.

It is essential that you get your parrot to an avian vet as soon as possible. Parrots can hide the extent of their illness and can die very quickly. Are his feathers fluffed up most of the time? Can be a sign of illness. When a parrot is ill, speed is of the essence.

It is not the parrot alone behaving like this .

Almost all bird species does this at the time when they are ready to take off.

I too have a parrot and it behaved similar to that.

It became very quite when it grew bulky in a few months and did not accept food except water items.

    It became slim.

we thought it was sick and we are very kind to it.

To our surprise it flew off one fine morning without saying good bye in front of our eyes and it never returned.

It may happen to you also

My sincere request is not to cut its feather .

    Keep it free.

If it wishes to go ,pl. allow to go.

    hi

if he is drinking and eating in moderation you have no problems.

do keep him in a warm place for a week and leave him quite but not ignoring him.if he appears fluffed up and sitting on two legs with his head in his wings he will not be well.this will always be the first sign.

    i believe he his ok
