What was the worst funeral you've ever attended? Were there any mishaps?

I just attended a funeral that left me with an impression about funerals that I can't shake--and it's not that anything went wrong. Nobody dropped the casket. Instead, someone threw himself on the casket, wailing. Just curious...

The worst I attended was my Mothers . It was 15 degrees below zero in the middle of a blizzard . Ironically my Dad jokingly said he was going to wait until warmer weather before he died . The first really nice week we had that spring he was killed in an auto accident

I think the worst one that I went to was a funeral for my mom's Japanese friend. All of the guests were taking pictures of the corpse in an open coffin. Totally convinced now that cremation is the way to end it. LOL. And a nice big glamor shots photo for people to look at during the wake. :) I think conversely the best funerals are Irish funerals/wakes.

This is a true story. My mother-in-law was furious. My sister-in-law took her miniature pincsher puppy with her everywhere. We never dreamed she'd bring it to the funeral. At the funeral of our uncle, she had a baby wrapped in a blanket. After the funeral, everyone came to see the new baby. The baby was the dog. My mother-in-law was so humiliated. I personally have never heard of anyone bringing a dog to a funeral. She also brought along a diaper bag with all it's favorite toys and food.

Isn't this a question that belongs in "Society & Culture"? The "Arts & Humanities" category is not some general grab bag to discuss everything going on in your life or poll about anything under the sun.

It was when my good friend died. Nothing strange happened. I just still really miss him. It was the worst funeral because he shouldn't have died.
