My estranged sister has died.  Now what things would I best do to show support to my parents (mother especially)?

    Favourite answer:

Honey, any death, of a loved one, or one who was not so loved, but whom you knew well, is a loss. Please accept my condolences. Now, about your postings: I think you are putting much too much time and attention into them, and that your energies might be better directed to doing what's needed vis a vis the funeral, your family, and your own personal needs. What we think really doesn't matter as much as all this.

So, upward and onward, with your life, and good wishes now.

My sister in law eats meat and I don't want her at my summer get together?

    Favourite answer:

Gotta be honest here as a meatatarian myself and the anticipated conversation topics this event seems to have to offer..  if I was SIL I'd be busy that day.  Your plans sound boring, I'd rather go to work.

I'm a meatataian and my husband is a pescatarian ...  he will eat food with anyone regardless of their dietary choice and he isn't limited to certain topics that he will talk about.  I'm not a big red meat eater, I mostly have chicken or turkey.  He is a really good cook and he makes dinner every night.  He will make a seafood version and a meat/poultry version of everything he makes.

I'm an animal lover and have many pets but it's not the only conversation topic I have to offer in life. I also as a host would accommodate all of my guests, not just ones who agree with me, who I like or who eat the same thing I do. Remember for your wedding reception menu, you're feeding a crowd not just yourself. If you pick food many don't like, they won't eat it and that will be a waste of money.

If you want someone to respect your life choices, you have to offer the same.

    Are vaccine passports unconstitutional?

    Favourite answer:

For now while the leading vaccines are being used on an emergency declaration and not full FDA approval it would be unconstitutional to demand proof of vaccination to enter government buildings, national parks, et al. But this is why the government is trying to pressure private businesses to demand them, because that would be within the Bill of Rights. The hope being that not being able to travel, dine, see movies, etc. would motivate people to get vaccinated. However, once the FDA does approve these vaccines that's when a case could be made for some kind of national vaccine passport. That case would wind its was through the circuit courts and eventually end up at the Supreme Court. What SCOTUS would do with it probably depends on whether we get a packed court in the next year or so.

What do I say if I’m asked to speak at my sisters funeral this Saturday?

    Favourite answer:

I think that, given how you saw her and felt about her, that it might be best if you took a pass on speaking at her funeral. You can say you prefer not to do it, no explanation needed.

do you teach your children they're expected to get married and give you grandchildren when they grow up?

    Favourite answer:

I lived in an Islamic household and my mom was training me to become a house wife. I was forced off into marriage with my cousin which I suffered in for an entire year before making the decision to leave.

You should teach them that their life is theirs and they can do whatever they want to do in it, as long as they're not harming or hurting anyone. Whatever makes my baby happy, thats all that matters to me.

Is it normal my 21 year old son comes home from work at 9-10pm everyday?

I know he finishes work at around 5-6, but then he'll go out afterwards to meet friends, do shopping, and eating out, and gym.

I don't think it's normal behaviour at all honeslty, and feel likes he's honestly taking the p***, as he's out for more than 12 hours each day.

Do some Mothers deserve to be ex-communicated by their family?

The particular woman I'm speaking of is currently in Her 80's and in very ill health, due to a lifetime of gluttonous overeating, and neglecting physical activity. So. She's  now 300 pounds, with lymphedema in both legs, and heart failure. Unfortunately, Her personality isn't much better. She's pushy, rude, and somewhat of a battle axe. Her own daughter has quit speaking to her probably due to many things besides the fact She won't acknowledge that Her   husband molested  her daughter!  Her own Son and daughter in law attempted to kick Her out of their house because She's so awful to live with. Overall, She is a burden, unpleasant, and not a very good Mother.....

I have four elder sisters and whenever I bring a girl home they ask her to many questions and don't trust her. How to stop this ordeal?

    Favourite answer:

The answer is simple: don't bring her home.  Leave that for the one and only, the one you intend to make a permanent connection with, and then, limit your time there, be present yourelf, make sure everyone has something else to do other than to sit around and perform an inquisition. Problem solved.

Why does my sister keep coming over every weekend?

I live with my mom and my sister and her kid sleeps over here every damn weekend. You already moved out, live your life and leave us tf alone. And then she adopted a dog and she keeps bringing her dirty dog here and putting it on our couch even though my mother tells her not to. I don’t know why it’s so hard to stay in your own home, Jesus.

Do I have a right to feel the way I do about a baby shower?

    Favourite answer:

Oh dear. She has completely railoraded you and sadly your husband isnt supporting you the way he should. OK we understand he doesnt want to upset his mother, but, he vowed to support you.

Your shower includes everyone, I cant fathom why she wants to be seen as the main host for their family only.

Your husband saying he wont go to your shower would be the final straw for me. Fine, dont go. Let him sulk with his mommy. They are trying to railroad you, where will that end?

They will look foolish having a baby shower with no mother to be there. I just couldnt be manipulated by them like they are trying. MIL needs to learn her place, today

Would it be fair, if I told my mom to stop use speaker phone on every call. ?

My mom is home all day (retired and has illness) and she usually is talking the on phone all day everyday. While I don't have a problem with that, she recently became lazy to hold the phone up to her ear, so now she puts it down and puts on the speaker button. It has become really annoying because I can hear all her conversations, but also the other people, on the other side of the phone can usually hear background sounds (me and my brother walking around, making food or going to work) so they complain and my mom after the call yells at us and tells us to be quiet and that we are disrespectful. My mom is on the phone all day, so she constantly wants no sound and wants us to literally go away when she's on the phone cause of the speaker but I don't understand why she can't just go off of speaker, so my brother and I can actually go around the house and do our things. We also pay the mortgage, with our rent.

Would It be unfair or rude if I asked my mom to stop using the speaker phone all the time?

Should my daughter go see her grandmother this Friday.?

I'm a single dad that has custody of my daughter.  Her mom is bipolar and she call me a couple times telling me the wants to kill herself . So cps got involved and then eventually we went to court. We when we to court the agreement was that I would get her six nights  a week and on Friday's she would spend the night at her grandma house. Two years ago the grandmother told me that was stress out because she was getting divorced and she wanted to stop having the visits.  Now two years later she said that she is doing better now . And recently told me that she wants to see 1000th er granddaughter again . I said no. So she got mad and I know have to go back to family court mediation in 2 weeks. A couple of days of ago she asked to take my daughter out on Friday. Should I allow her to see my daughter before i go to I mediation

Why are everyone supposed to look like their parents ?

    Favourite answer:

Where did you get that from? Our DNA has the attributes of many ancestors. Not just our parents. I've a brother that is the spitting image of his great grandfather and looks very little (nothing) like either parent.
