    Who is technically fatter?

My friend has been trying to set me up with one of her friends for the past month, and to be frank, it's hard to see myself with someone who is even bigger than me.

When I brought this to my friend's attention -- she told me that I have no right to talk about her friend's weight because I'm way fatter than her friend (her words). Of course I disagree, I'm 5'9 and weigh 385 lbs, while her friend is only 5'2 but weighs around 250 lbs. Again, I know I technically weigh more, however, I think our heights should be considered.

    Is 145 at 5’6 fat?

I used to weigh 115 to 110. But I was put on a mood stabilizer that made me gain a lot of weight. I feel less confident. I don’t like to show my body. It makes me insecure and frustrated. I have lost 15 pounds over I’d say 4 months . Which isn’t a lot given the time. I’m eating vegetarian food, no junk food, no cheese, no sugar. And it’s not working as fast as I’d like. I have went from 140 to 110 before a few years ago and I lost weight much faster .. I don’t know what the problem is. Any advise or tips?

    can i lose 70lbs in 5 months? ?

    Favourite answer:

Can you? Yes, but not safely or in a way that would be permanent.

Changing your lifestyle (diet and activities) on your way to a healthier weight takes time.

One or two pounds a week is a very high standard to hit.  Some weeks will actually go up or stay the same.

Five months is roughly 20 weeks.  At a reasonable rate you could lose 40 pounds or so.  Probably less if you’re exercising and gaining muscle mass.

Which makes the point that your weight number doesn’t matter as much as how you feel and how clothing fits.  You could lose that 70 pounds and be sickly and weak, or change your lifestyle, lose 20-30 pounds and look and feel awesome.

I would encourage you to simply take it one day at a time, trying to do a little better tomorrow...and before you realize it, you’ll have transformed yourself.

I just ate a big bag of potato chips and a Coke Zero, what will it do to me?

    Favourite answer:

The potato chips contain a large amount of salt and calories, they could make you gain about 200 grams of fat (since it's a big bag). As for the coke zero. It doesn't have salt, sugar or calories but contains other unhealthy chemicals that make it taste like standard coca cola (and it's acidic)- so coke zero has a negative effect on your bloodstream. One bottle won't hurt you, but you should really drink plain water most of the time

If I cut sugar from my diet, what can I replace the calories with as a substitute?

I need calories and  sugar is the easiest way I have gotten them.  Otherwise I would dry up and blow away.  People will tell me that I need to gain some weight.   I like sweet but I can get used to things without it, but I don't want any weight loss.

Would a girl whos 5ft 3in tall and 230 lbs be considered severely obese and has a waist measurement of 43in is this dangerous?

    Favourite answer:

Yes, her overweight is at a level that impacts her overall health and will most likely shorten her life as well as reduce its quality.

She can regain her health without reaching an ideal weight. Even relatively small loss, like 15 pounds, relieves the burden on her joints and her heart, reduces the chances of gall bladder and liver problems, and makes GERD and esophageal cancer less likely.

She probably should *not* go on a diet. Instead, she should educate herself about food, including portion size, calories, fat content, and salt, and attempt to eat healthy for the rest of her life. Even if she does not lose an ounce, eating better will lead to better health outcomes all her life.
