  • Is there a safe way to buy a car from a private seller in another state without traveling?

    Hello,

Recently my little brother found the car of his dreams.

He has the money to buy it, as well as pay for shipping fee.

He lives in Virginia, and the car and seller are in New York.

He was wondering is there any legal and safe way to buy the car and have the title transfered/mailed without actually having to travel about Nine hours away?..

All advice and sugestions are appreciated.

    Thank you!

  • Bought car with a Bill of Sale, No title, the buyer took (stole) the car back. What to do?

    Hello,

My friend recently bought a car from an individual with a Bill of Sale. He was given two copies of keys. The title was still with the bank since the seller was financing it. My friend was given a fake registration by the seller. But the seller NEVER transferred any paper work to the bank for the title to switch so that my friend could finish paying whatever was left on the car. The seller came back and TOOK the car off of my friend's property.

My friend still has a bill of sale, he knows where the car is now (with seller) and called the police when it was first reported missing.

Can my friend, just go down and take back the car without getting in trouble?

Any advice as far as what he might be able to do?

    Please help..

    Thank you.

  • No credit but Can I get a bank Loan with savings?

    Hello,

I am currently looking at a recreational item that costs $40,000

I have no credit. But I owe no debtors. I have been saving up my money, I've saved $25,000. and I have a fairly decent job at the hospital that I've kept for 2 years.

Would a bank grant me a $15,000 loan (not a secured/savings loan) but an additional $15,000 to go with my $25,000 to buy the $40,000 item?...

Any tips/advice?... I've never even attempted to take out a loan before...

  • If I place a lien on someone can I use it to finance something else?

    Hello everyone,

I went to court a couple of years ago after getting scammed out of $10,000

I won, and I was granted a Judgement from the judge/court. I tried to get the money bac, but the person closed their account and put it elsewhere. In order to located that persons bank, I'd have to hire an asset search detective, which would be $2,000-$3,000. In the Judgement I am also given the option to place a lien on any property the person may have (house, car, boat, etc.). However, it apparently does NOT force them to HAVE TO sell, it's only that I receive my money after they have decided to sell what it is I place the lien on (meaning they may NEVER sell, and I may never actually get a penny back). I was curious if there is any way to place a lien on something of there's and then if my bank would use that to transfer over to something I'd like to purchase (home, land, car, etc.). Is there anyone who knows if this is possible to do? Has anyone ever done so?

I'd appreciate as much advice/help as possible.

    Thank you in advance!!!

  • Can I get my old number back with Verizon?

    Hello,

I had a cell phone number that was always hooked up to my social media accounts. I am currently locked out of one and the only number listed for them to send the security code to is a number that I used to have with Verizon. I called the number, and it says "the number you are trying to dial has been disconnect or no longer in service"

I have not used my Verizon account since being incarcerated. During that time, bills went unpaid, and went into a collection agency. I was wondering, if I were to pay off my Verizon debt, and since they still have my old information, would I be able to get another set up with them and get back my old number that is currently not assigned to anyone else apparently?...

Please help. I have a lot on my social media account that I'll never be able to replace. From amazing adventures to pictures of people whom are no longer living.

If anyone could please give me some advice, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Again, I am trying to see if I can get my old number back since it doesn't seemed to be assigned to anyone else. Can I request that EXACT number?

    THank you in advance!!!

  • Can I have a pet monkey?

    Hello,

My spouse and I are looking at buying a pet baby Squirrel Monkey. The lady selling him to us lives in Tennessee. My spouse and I live in Virginia. In Virginia, you are allowed to own a pet monkey/primate. However apparently each city can limit/restrict the type of pet you own. On the website of the city we live in, it does not allow us to own any "Exotic" pets. However, other animals mentioned that are restricted are also pets of other people whom we either know or know of, which include, skunks, ferrets, hedgehog, etc.

We were wondering, is there ANY WAY we can still go about buying the baby Squirrel Monkey and not worry about and repercussions/removals?.. We have seen where people move in with huge dogs, and have them registered as service animals, even though the landlords forbid dogs of any size. Is it possible to register the Squirrel Monkey as a registered service animal?

If anyone could help, we'd greatly appreciate it!

    Thank you!

  • Does placing a Lien for a sale?

    Hello,

Little over two years ago I went to court and won a lawsuit. I was granted a Judgement paper. I have been trying to locate the persons bank account, however they closed the account they deposited the check in. I was told I can hire someone to locate any and all banks the person may have, but it would be pretty costly.

The Judgement paper also grants me permission to place a lien on any house, cars, boats, etc. to help collect money.

I am new to this. But I know of two houses this person owns.

Can anyone tell me, if I were to place a lien on one of these houses, would it FORCE a sell? Would I be able to get my money back that way?.. I tried to avoid this route, thinking that if I place a lien on it, the person would be more aware that I am on to them, as I have been really hoping to find their bank account and just have the money taken back out without them knowing. Surely, placing a lien on property they will be given a notice of some sort.. But is this my best route to take? If so, how long might the process take? And will it FORCE a sale?

I'd appreciate any and all advice.

    Thank you!

  • How to do an asset search after getting a judgement?

    Hello,

A couple years ago I did a $10,000 investment deal that went horribly wrong.

That following year, I went to court and received a "Judgement" which grants me permission to get legal representatives to help retrieve my money from the person whom deposited the investment check.

I tried to just go after the bank it was cashed out, unfortunately the account had been closed. Now I am looking for the assets, bank accounts, anything the person has in her name (money, land, homes, cars, financial accounts, social security number, etc.)

I have an attorney who recommended a professional. But that may cost me an additional $2,000 (or a little more).. Is there any way to possibly find someone's hidden assets by myself? The lady is a realtor of some form, I have found her website and even her License number. I know the city she lives currently lives in. But at the moment, I am looking for information on who she banks with, and other MONEY options before trying to go after assets.

If anyone could please help, I'd greatly appreciate it!

    Thank you.

  • How to find debt(s) with no credit?

    Hello,

I am 21 years old, and I have never owned a credit card. I plan on getting one within the next month or two. However, before doing so, I would like to know if I have a fully clean slate starting out. I recently just paid a hospital bill that I didn't even realize existed for nearly two years. I had an injury at work, and I thought the bill was fully covered. I ended up leaving the area and didn't realize I had a bill/notice coming in the mail of my previous address. It is now paid for.

Before going to get a credit card to start building credit, I was wondering if there was a way to figure out if there are anymore bills that I may have overlooked?... I would like to not owe anyone any money without knowing so it doesn't hurt me starting out with building credit..

Any and all help is appreciated!!!

    Thank You,

    Don

  • Who's name will be on deedusing someone else's credit?

    Hello,

I am looking to buy a piece of land in Virginia. I plan on financing it until it is paid off.

I have the money, however my credit score is not yet good enough. My mother is willing to let me use her credit to help purchase it. She will not be putting ANY money towards this. However, I was curious to know if her name will be on the property AT ALL?.. I honestly, would like for everything to be in my name, especially if someone were to look it up.

Are there any risks on my end? Could she potentially sell it without me knowing?

If someone were to look up the property tax online, would they see both of our names, or only mine or only hers? Who's name will be on the deed when I pay it off?

She is not going to put ONE PENNY towards it... this is me working for my hard earned money to try to buy this..

    Thank you.

Hello everyone, I am currently trying to transport an ultralight aircraft from Oregon to Virginia. My friend told me to look into U-Ship to help get it hauled across the country.

Is it safe? Has anyone had any problems? If so, what?... Is it dependable?

Has anyone had a bad experience? Any thing that might be a negative about it that I should be aware of..

  • What Pickup truck(s) have a bed width larger than six feet?

Hello everyone, I am currently looking to transport a Mosquito Helicopter from Porland, Or. to Virginia.

I would like to haul it on the back of a pick up and just go, with no trailer. However, the Mosquito is six-feet (6ft) wide from one skid to the other. In order to haul it, I would need a truck that has atleast enough space between the wheel-bearings.. So the bed size width itself cannot just be six-feet... but wide enough in between so the skids can be placed down between the bearings. I have looked all over as far as rentals... If anyone could help me, or have any other suggests, I'd greatly appreciate it.

    Thank you!

  • If I buy a car that was in an accident, will the title still be clean?

    Hello,

I am looking to buy a car from a guy who said it was in an accident a little over a year ago. The title is currently "clean/clear," but I do not know if it was an insurance write-off. I ran the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) and could not find any report of it being in an accident, and the seller said the title is still clean/clear that he will be giving me with the sell of the car. However, I was curious to know if after I go to the DMV to get things transferred, will the title still be "CLEAN/CLEAR"? Or will I be looking at the title changing to "SALVAGED" or "REBUILT" ??

If anyone has every done this, please let know your take.

    I appreciate it..

  • Can I take out my 401(a)? retirement?

I am 24 years old an worked for the state of Virginia for about two years. However, I do not plan on retiring through their system. I am looking to request my refund online.

It is giving me the option to take out my "Member Contribution Account" amount.

However, it is not giving me the option to take out my 401(a) Cash Match Plan balance...

I was wondering if it was possible to take that out as well? Or is that something I can not take out, and just end up losing entirely? It is not a whole lot, but I would still love to have it..

  • How to evict someone in Virginia?

    Hello everyone,

My mother owns a log cabin in Virginia.

I am her youngest son. My brother used to live in the log cabin until he passed away.

Now my older nephew has been living in it with his now wife.

However, my mother no longer wants him living there due to recent actions.

He DOES NOT pay my mom any rent money. I am unaware if he gets mail there. I do know some of the mail goes to my mom's house she resides in at times because it used to always since growing up. He is 40+ years old.

I was curious to know, How could she go about getting him out legally?.. He has already refused a couple times. He is a pretty good size guy (intimidating).

She is also worried that he will end up messing up/destroying the log cabin as well if she tried to put him out..

    Someone please help..

  • Do I need to appear in court for tinted windows?

I got stopped a couple weeks ago because my car windows were a little too illegally tinted in Virginia. I got a citation from the State Cop. I was wondering if I have to go to court, or if I could just plead guilty (obiviously I am) and pay the ticket/offense online?
