  • after almost a year my bed sore has not yet healed?

I was admitted to a hospital for four days where xrays and tests were conducted but no result, my family doctor then had me admitted to another hospital in july again scans and xrays but not cured they told me it was third stage and it will take some time and the only thing they did was dressing drips and medication, again in oct i was taken to another hospital and was asked for a pet scan which did not show any positive result, before being admitted to the first hospital I would drink a quarter bottle whiskey and smoke almost 30 sticks cigarettes, now it is almost 10 months I have not had any drinks except for a glass of beer on an occasion but still smoke which has been reduced to just about 10 sticks. the sore was over 10 Cm's in diameter but now it is about 3 Cm's I can walk at home like going to the toilet kitchen etc but when once I tried to go out for a walk I could only walk 50 meters and needed help to return back home I used the elevator for going down and was tired before I could reach the buildings gate. The doctors from the hospital have asked me to quit smoking and drinking, my family doctor told me as I am a smoker since the last 45 odd years it will be difficult to quit and with bed sore the withdrawal symptoms will be very harsh on my health. He has given some simple

exercises which can be done while lying in bed and takes 2/3 minutes and it tires me and I fall asleep after the exercise, Any suggestion on how to cope with this problem or any over the counter medication diet Thank you for your valuable suggestions.
