  • Dear brothers/Sisters! What is your opinion regarding the relationship to neighbors in Islam?

I furnish below a few hadiths (narrations from the Prophet-SAW) from Sahih Bukhari regarding the treatment to be meted out to the neighbors.

Please see the question of "Andorend" regarding his Muslim neighbor and the answer of "Mike" in the following link: http://in.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ah...

Narrated 'Aisha: The Prophet said "Gabriel continued to recommend me about treating the neighbors Kindly and politely so much so that I thought he would order me to make them as my heirs. (Book 73, Hadith 43)

Narrated Abu Shuraih: The Prophet said, "By Allah, he does not believe! By Allah, he does not believe! By Allah, he does not believe!" It was said, "Who is that, O Allah's Apostle?" He said, "That person whose neighbor does not feel safe from his evil." (Book 73, Hadith 45)

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "Anybody who believes in Allah and the Last Day should not harm his neighbor, and anybody who believes in Allah and the Last Day should entertain his guest generously and anybody who believes in Allah and the Last Day should talk what is good or keep quiet. (i.e. abstain from all kinds of evil and dirty talk). (Book 73, Hadith 47)

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should not hurt (trouble) his neighbor. And I advise you to take care of the women, for they are created from a rib and the most crooked portion of the rib is its upper part; if you try to straighten it, it will break, and if you leave it, it will remain crooked, so I urge you to take care of the women." (Book 62, Hadith 114)

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should talk what is good or keep quiet, and whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should not hurt (or insult) his neighbor; and whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, should entertain his guest generously." (Book 76, Hadith 482)

Narrated 'Abdullah: I asked the Prophet, "What is the greatest sin in the Sight of Allah?" He said, "That you set up a rival unto Allah though He Alone created you." I said, "That is indeed a great sin." Then asked, "What is next?" He said, "To kill your son lest he should share your food with you." I asked, "What is next?" He said, "To commit illegal sexual intercourse with the wife of your neighbor." (Book 60, Hadith 4)

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle forbade drinking directly from the mouth of a water skin or other leather containers. and forbade preventing one's neighbor from fixing a peg in (the wall of) one's house. (Book 69, Hadith 531)

Narrated 'Aisha: I said, "O Allah's Apostle! I have two neighbors! To whom shall I send my gifts?" He said, "To the one whose gate in nearer to you." (Book 73, Hadith 49)

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, should not hurt his neighbor and whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, should serve his guest generously and whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, should talk what is good or keep quiet." (Book 73, Hadith 158)

Narrated 'Amr bin Ash-Sharid: Abu Rafi' sold a house to Sa'd bin Malik for four-hundred Mithqal of gold, and said, "If I had not heard the Prophet saying, 'The neighbor has more right to be taken care of by his neighbor (than anyone else),' then I would not have sold it to you." (Book 86, Hadith 110)

  • Married priests can join the Catholic Church. What next?

Married Anglican priests who convert can stay married and become priests in the Roman Catholic Church, an exception to the Vatican's celibacy rule. God's Law does not change. Man made laws changes.

Pope Benedict XVI on Sunday named a married priest and former sportswriter who converted from Anglicanism to head the first organizational structure for U.S. converts to Roman Catholicism wanting to retain some of their Anglican heritage.

  • Zamzam well and water-- A perennial miracle! Please offer your remarks?

Zam zam is a well located within masjidul-***** in holy land akkah. The history behind zam zam is related to prophet Ibrahim, and his son Ismael (peace be upon them). Ibrahim (Abraham) was commanded by God to leave his wife Hagar and their infant son alone in the desert, with only basic provisions, to test their faith. The place was between Al-Safa and Al-Marwah. When their provisions were exhausted, Hagar went in search of help or water. To make her search easier and faster, she went alone, leaving the infant Ismael on the ground. She first climbed the nearest hill, Al-Safa, to look over the surrounding area. When she saw nothing, she then went to the other hill, Al-Marwah, to look around. While Hagar was on either hillside, she was able to see Ismael and know he was safe. However, when she was in the valley between the hills she was unable to see her son. Thus Hazrat Hajra would run while in the valley between the hills and walk at a normal pace while on the hillsides.

Hagar travelled back and forth between the hills seven times in the scorching heat before she returned to Ismael. When she arrived, she found that a spring had sprouted forth from the crying baby kicking at the sand with his feet. This spring is now known as the Zamzam Well. This Zamzam Well was granted by Allah (SWT) to reward Hagar.

It is more than 4000 years since then.

Description of the cistern of Zamzam: 39 cubits fro inside and 40 cubits fro outside. Its diameter is 12 cubits and tiled with marble. The walls are covered with arble. The well pumps 8000 litres of water per second through out day and night. Lakhs of pilgrims drink the water every day. Every pilgrim takes at least 10 litres of water home. No decrease in water level. No change in taste. It is the purest water available in the world.

Allah’s Messenger, Muhammad, (PBUH), described the water of the well of Zamzam, saying, “It is blessed! It is a kind of food” and in another narration by Al-Bazzar on authority of Abi Tharr: “and cure for illness.”

Narrated Ibn Jouraij, may Allah have mercy on him: “I have heard that it is said: ‘The best water in the earth is Zamzam water.’”

Narrated Jabir Ibn Abdullah: I heard Allah’s Messenger, (PBUH), say: “Zamzam water is (proper) for whatever (purpose) it is drunk for.” Ad-Darqatni added in his Sunan on authority of Ibn ‘Abbas, (may Allah be pleased with him), that Allah’s Messenger, (PBUH), added: “So, if you drink it in order to be cured of illness, Allah cures you; if you drink it in order to satisfy your appetite, Allah satisfies you appetite for you; and if you drink it in order to quench your thirst, Allah quenches your thirst for you. It was dug up by Gabriel and provided by Allah to Ishmael to drink.”

  • What are your thoughts on the Last Sermon of the Prophet (SAW)?

This Sermon was delivered on the Ninth Day of Dhul Hijjah 10 A.H in the Uranah Valley of mount Arafat

"O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I don't know whether, after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you carefully and TAKE THIS WORDS TO THOSE WHO COULD NOT BE PRESENT HERE TODAY. O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your LORD, and that HE will indeed reckon your deeds. ALLAH has forbidden you to take usury (Interest), therefore all interest obligation shall henceforth be waived... Beware of Satan, for your safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things. O People, it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women, but they also have right over you. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with any one of whom you do not approve, as well as never to commit adultery. O People, listen to me in earnest, worship ALLAH, say your five daily prayers (Salah), fast during the month of Ramadhan, and give your wealth in Zakat. Perform Hajj if you can afford to. You know that every Muslim is the brother of another Muslim. YOU ARE ALL EQUAL. NOBODY HAS SUPERIORITY OVER OTHER EXCEPT BY PIETY AND GOOD ACTION. Remember, one day you will appear before ALLAH and answer for your deeds. So beware, do not astray from the path of righteousness after I am gone. O People, NO PROPHET OR APOSTLE WILL COME AFTER ME AND NO NEW FAITH WILL BE BORN. Reason well, therefore, O People, and understand my words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the QUR'AN and my example, the SUNNAH and if you follow these you will never go astray. All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me directly. BE MY WITNESS O ALLAH THAT I HAVE CONVEYED YOUR MESSAGE TO YOUR PEOPLE."

    Matthew 17:20 (King James Version)

And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

Can you point out the names of such persons who are alive? If so, what are the miracles performed by them?

  • Christians! Do u like the Qur'an version of Mary and Jesus better?

We gave Moses the Book and followed him up with a succession of apostles; We gave Jesus the son of Mary Clear (Signs) and strengthened him with the holy spirit. Is it that whenever there comes to you an apostle with what ye yourselves desire not, ye are puffed up with pride?- Some ye called impostors, and others ye slay!

    ( سورة البقرة , Al-Baqara, Chapter 2, Verse 87)

Those apostles We endowed with gifts, some above others: To one of them Allah spoke; others He raised to degrees (of honour); to Jesus the son of Mary We gave clear (Signs), and strengthened him with the holy spirit. If Allah had so willed, succeeding generations would not have fought among each other, after clear (Signs) had come to them, but they (chose) to wrangle, some believing and others rejecting. If Allah had so willed, they would not have fought each other; but Allah Fulfilleth His plan.

    ( سورة البقرة , Al-Baqara, Chapter 2, Verse 253)

Right graciously did her Lord accept her: He made her grow in purity and beauty: To the care of Zakariya was she assigned. Every time that he entered (Her) chamber to see her, He found her supplied with sustenance. He said: "O Mary! Whence (comes) this to you?" She said: "From Allah. for Allah Provides sustenance to whom He pleases without measure."

    ( سورة آل عمران , Aal-e-Imran, Chapter 3, Verse 37)

Behold! the angels said: "O Mary! Allah hath chosen thee and purified thee- chosen thee above the women of all nations.

    ( سورة آل عمران , Aal-e-Imran, Chapter 3, Verse 42)

"O Mary! worship Thy Lord devoutly: Prostrate thyself, and bow down (in prayer) with those who bow down."

    ( سورة آل عمران , Aal-e-Imran, Chapter 3, Verse 43)

Behold! the angels said: "O Mary! Allah giveth thee glad tidings of a Word from Him: his name will be Christ Jesus, the son of Mary, held in honour in this world and the Hereafter and of (the company of) those nearest to Allah.

    ( سورة آل عمران , Aal-e-Imran, Chapter 3, Verse 45)

    That they rejected Faith; that they uttered against Mary a grave false charge;

    ( سورة النساء , An-Nisa, Chapter 4, Verse 156)

That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah.;- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-

    ( سورة النساء , An-Nisa, Chapter 4, Verse 157)

O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of Allah aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) an apostle of Allah, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in Allah and His apostles. Say not "Trinity" : desist: it will be better for you: for Allah is one Allah. Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs.

  • Is the victory of Makkah enough to prove that Islamn is religion of peace|?

As expected, the Quraish repeatedly broke the terms of the Hudaibiyyah Treaty and continued killing innocent men and women. Therefore, on the morning of Friday, the 20th of Ramadhan, 8 A.H. the Prophet (peace be upon him) entered Makkah and captured the city with hardly a single drop of blood being shed. The Prophet (peace be upon him) forgave all those who had up to then, been bitter enemies of Islam and declared a general amnesty.

One man, trembling with fear on that day, was told by the Prophet (peace be upon him), “Be at ease, and do not be afraid. I am not a king. I am only the son of a woman of the Quraish who used to eat meat dried in the sun.”

Victors are usually proud and happy to take revenge on their victims, but not the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). After his conquest of Makkah, the Prophet (peace be upon him) displayed the utmost humility. When he entered Makkah, his head was bowed so low that people could see his beard touching the camel's saddle. Standing at the door of the Kabah, the Prophet (peace be upon him):

There is none worthy of being served save the one, Allah. He has fulfilled his promise and offered help to his servants. He alone has brought the hosts of enemies low.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) did not claim any credit for the victory: he said it was entirely Allah's doing. And he went on to forgive the Quraysh:

I say to you as Yusuf said to his brothers: Let no reproach be upon you this day. Go, you are free.

Even Uthman ibn Talhah who had once refused the Prophet's (peace be upon him) entry to the Kabah and persecuted him, was later given back the key to the shrine, and it remains with his family to this day.

The victory of Makkah had a tremendous impact on the Arabs. It showed that Islam was the religion of Allah and it paved the way for the whole of Arabia to accept the faith.

  • Clean water is a precious resource. What Islam says about water?

Water is essential for maintaining health, personal cleanliness, and general hygiene. Water is also indispensible to agriculture and industry. Clearly, water is a crucial concern for planet earth and its inhabitants. Not surprisingly then, Islam takes the issue of water and its conservation very seriously.

  • Can you say why Moses (peace be upon him) felt much fatigue in their journey?

And (remember) when Moses said to his boy-servant: "I will not give up (travelling) until I reach the junction of the two seas or (until) I spend years and years in travelling (Qur'an 18: 60).

But when they reached the juction of the two seas, they forgot their fish, and it took its way through the sea as in a tunnel. (Quran 18: 61).

So when they had passed further on (beyond that fixed place) Moses said to his boy-servant: "Bring us our morning meal; truly, we have suffered much fatigue in this, our journey." (Qur'an 18: 62)
