  • How to effectively work my horse?

I recently bought a 16 year old Tennessee Walker gelding. He was used as a trail horse for most of his life, before he was sold to the ranch where I work. There, he was kept with a herd of horses used for public riding. He was never used much, and became very buddy sour.

After I bought him, I moved him to stall board, and he shares a turn lot with another gelding. He is no longer buddy sour, however I have issue getting him to respond to me when riding, and I cannot get him to go out on the trails.

I am really unsure of how I should be working with him, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Does this seem wrong to you?

I'm posting this for a guy friend of mine.

My friend has been trying to get back with his ex girlfriend. However, lately shes upset because hes been going swimming, etc. with a girl he had a major crush on. Before he decided to get back with her, he told her he didn't want to because of this girl he had feelings for. Now, he doesn't understand why she is upset over him spending time with the other girl. Is it wrong that he is spending so much time with this other girl?

  • Turtle is limp and listless.. help?

Today I found my turtle laying in his water bowl. I lifted him up, and he was very limp. Upon examination, I realized he was still alive, but barely breathing. He is barely moving, and I am really worried.

  • Renovating a large room.. need some opinions?

My bedroom has been in the process of renovation for two years. I am a fourteen year old girl, and cannot handle this project on my own as my parents will not provide resources, nor will they allow to work on the room on my own.

Well, the room is almost completely stripped of its 5 layers of wall paper and 7 layers of paint from the previous owners. There are only a few places where the last layer of paint would not come off.

So, all that is left to do is clean, patch, seal, and texture the walls.

Well, a good friend of my mother textures walls as part of his job. He said that if we went ahead and patched the walls and sealed them, he would come texture it for free. He said that we don't have to remove the patches of stubborn paint as they will make little difference. Anyway, my parents want to texture the walls themselves, however it will not get done.

So my question is, do you think we should take the offer and have our walls professionally textured for free?

  • New leopard gecko owner, in need of help?

I adopted my first leo the other day, and I have a few questions.

Does my setup sound ok? What changes are needed?

    - 10 gallon tank

    - Hot side: under-tank heat mat, incadescant light over-head, hot hide, and humid hide (91 degrees)

    - Cool side- no light, cool hide (78 degrees)

    - reptile carpet as substrate, water dish, calcium dish, and several items to climb on

Are there any changes that should be made?

As for feeding, my leo is currently being feed crickets, and has a dish of mealworms in her cage. She is fed daily, and the insects are dusted with calcium with D3. What else should I add to her diet, or is ok as-is?

I was also wondering what you think of the name Gemini (my leo is a female). My sister really likes it, but I would like other's opinions as well.

    Thanks! (:

  • Help stocking two tanks? (non-aquatic)?

I need help finding new inhabitants for an empty 37 gallon tank, and an empty 15 gallon. I am no longer allowed to have fully aquatic tank, due to my younger sister shattering my 20 gallon filled with water.

The only other restriction is that I'm not allowed to have snakes. ( mom & sister are terrified.)

  • Leopard gecko substrate help?

My juvenile leopard has been kept on reptile carpet for a few months and lately hes been snagging his claws on the carpet, getting stuck, and becoming stressed out.

I would like to know if I can keep my gecko on sand if I feed him in another cage, which I do already.

If not, what other natural substrates could I use?

( I will not use paper towel.)

  • Poltergeist activity?

I am a fourteen year old girl, and I have been experiencing some very odd activity, which mostly occurs in my bedroom.

    - Items are moved, or disappear, only to turn up later.

-Tapping, knocking, and footsteps are heard throughout that day.

    - iPod and stereo are messed with, such as the volume being changed while playing, sudden static, or songs being changed randomly while playing.

Could this be evidence of a poltergeist/spirit, or simply freak occurrences? I would really like your guy's opinions. Thanks in advance.

  • Should I get another guinea pig?

I have two female guinea pigs who are currently living seperated, as I am using the old cnc cage from my two boars who passed a while back. I plan on making the cage larger, possibly with multiple levels. Could I get another female pig? How could I bond the trio?

  • Need helping bonding two female guinea pigs..?

I have two female guinea pigs, named Ginger & Pepper. Pepper is just under a year old, and Ginger is two. Ginger was my first guinea pig, and she seems to be the problem. When I first introduced the two, they got along great. However, over time they stopped getting along. Now whenever they're together outside of their separated cnc cage, they chatter, clack their teeth, and bite. Is there any way I can help my pigs get along?

  • How to tame two adult male rats?

My younger sister gave me her two male rats yesterday. She's had the rats since they were babies, but spent no time with them what so ever, so they are now very skittish and scared of people. I'm working on adding to their cage at the moment as they have no toys, etc. but I would like to know how I can tame the rats when I finish their cage..

    Thanks in advance!

  • Suitable substrate for baby leopard gecko?

I was wondering if there is any other suitable substrate for a leopard gecko besides reptile carpet.. I'm really not a fan of the reptile carpet but if its best for my gecko then that's what I'll go with.

I'm also looking for advice on keeping a leopard gecko. I'm not a newbie to reptiles as I've kept quite a few different species, but I am new to the leopard gecko species and any breed specific advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

  • Several questions, need advice.?

I am a freshman in high school, and as part of our required curriculum, we are required to take a swim class. I've been in the class for about four weeks and I've noticed that my hair, skin, and nails are not taking the frequent chlorine very well.

    - My hair has become brittle, and greasy, despite washing it after swim.

    - My nails became brittle, broke off, and are now peeling.

    - My skin is dry, and patchy.

What can I do to treat these problems? Thanks in advance.

  • Ideas for styling short hair?

I have an angled bob, the longest part barely brushes my shoulders. All I've ever done with it is either leave it down, or twist my bangs back. I have to say this is getting rather boring. I am a freshman in high school, if this helps with your answers. I just some new ideas on how to style my hair. Thanks!
